In a nail-biting finish, Mumbai Indian?s (MI) won the IPL 2019 final just by one run and prevented the defending champions Chennai?? Super Kings (CSK) from regaining the trophy.

Chasing a modest target of 150, most of the Chennai batsmen failed to deliver, with the exception of opener Shane Watson. He almost took them over the line, but ultimately was dismissed in a last over run out. Although the Men in Yellow lost the f?inal,?? Watson is getting a lot of praise on social media after fans got to know that he was playing with a bleeding knee.

A day after the finale, the CSK off-spinner Harbhajan Singh revealed that Watto had played with a bleeded knee during the run chase. Despite the injury, the veteran Australia batsman pulled off a brilliant 80-run knock off 59 balls to change the momentum of the game in Chennai’s favour. The CSK was close to victory but a superb slow ball from Lasith Malinga powered MI to win their fourth IPL title.

Chennai Super ??Sings (CSK) opener Shane Watson scored a valiant 59-ball 80 in the IPL 2019 final that his side lost to Mumbai I??ndians (MI) by just one run in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Unlike last year’s final, Watto could not take the Men in Yellow home, having been run out in the last over as MI restricted CSK to 148/7, one run short of the target.

While many still celebrated the all-rounder’s effort, his teammate Harbhajan Singh has made a revelation that Watson batted through a bloodied leg in the final.

The Australia cricketer also receive??d six stitches on his left leg after he dived to save his wicket during his knock.

Harbhajan posted a picture on his Insta story of Watson’s bloodied left leg from the final.

“Can you guys see the blood on his knee.. He got 6 stitches after the game..Got injured while diving but continue to bat without telling anyone,” Harbhajan captioned the picture.

After Harbhajan’s post, CSK’s official Twitter account too posted about the 37-year-old’s dedication to the team’s mission.

Meanwhile, after a narrow defeat in the IPL 2019 final, CSK captain MS Dhoni has hinted that th??ere will be a squad over??haul in the off-season.

“We need to go back and reflect as to how we reached the finals. I don’t think it was one of those years where we played really good cricket and we got into the finals,” said Dhoni.

“After the World Cup, once we come back, that’s the time we get to the drawing board and see what can be done to fill the gaps.

“Nothing against the bowlers, but batting could have been better,” said Dhoni, whose team has won three IPL titles from eight finals.

India opener Rohit Sharma added a fresh feather into his already illustrious cap as he set a new milestone in International cricket during the Men In Blue’s first T20 match of the series against Australia in Ranchi on Saturday.

Ro??hit batted just seven balls before getting out in the first T20I but still managed to set a rare record. The 30-year-old hit his 30th six in International cricket in 2017 out of which 29 are in ODIs.

With 30 sixes this year, Rohit has become the first player to hit 30 ?and more sixes in five consecutive calendar years in International cricket. The Mumbai lad hit 36 sixes across all formats in 2013 and 30 in 2014 despite missing out quite a few games due to injury. In 2015, the right-handed batsman hit 38 and better it in 2016 striking 46 maximums over the boundary ropes.

With the six off Nathan Coulter-Nile at Ranchi, Rohit became the first player to hit 30+ sixes in five consecutive years. Thus, he broke the previous record of four consecutive years jointly held by Brendon McCullum and Shane Watson.
