I?n the other match, West Indies�?young boys crushed the Australian team by three wickets. After winning the toss, the Caribbeans asked the Aussies to bat first. The Mackenzie Harvey-led side crumbled against the Windies bowlers and got all out for just 179.

The Australian bowlers gave a tough fight, however, they couldn’t stop the loss as Windies reached the target in 46 overs with three wickets in hand.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe played a rain-affected match. Zimbabwe batted first and posted 137-6 in 28.1 overs. However, Bangladesh’s boys got the challenging target of 130 in 22 overs, but they made it look like an easy-peasy thing.

The Akbar Ali-led team punished their opponent’s bowling unit as they reached the target in just 11.2 overs, winning the match by nine wickets. Parvez Hossain Emon for his 33-ball 58 got the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

In the second semi-final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2018 between India and Pakistan, Team India’s vice-captain Shubman Gill grabbed a stunning catch to dismiss Pakistani batsman Hasan Khan.

The incident took place on the first ball of Riyan Parag’s over. Chasing 273 to win, Pakistan team were struggling at 45 for 6 when Hasan took charge and thought to clear the boundary. But the shot was mistimed by the young Pakistani and ball went up straight into the air in the extra-cover region.

Shubman ran in ??his opposite direction chasing the?? ball and dived full stretch to hold on a blinder.

India thrashed Pakistan by 203-runs in the ICC U-19 World Cup semi-final on Tuesday. Riding on high-class performances by Shubman Gill and bowler Ishan Porel, Prit??hvi Shaw-led team posted 272/9 and then bundled out arch-rivals Pakistan for just 69 runs.

While Shubam lifted India to a fighting total from 166/5, it was bowler Ishan Po??rel who sent Pakistani top-order back to pavilion. Porel bagged 4 wickets while Shiva Singh and Riyan Parag grabbed two wickets each.

India breezed int?o the ICC U-19 World Cup quarter-finals after hammering minnows Papua New Guinea by 10 wickets in a low-scoring group B clash at Mount Maunganui on Tuesday.

Left-arm spinner Anukul Roy (5/14) claimed a maiden five-wicket haul and emerged as the wrecker-in-chief for India as he ran th?rough the opposition after skipper Prithvi Shaw won the toss and el??ected to bowl first under overcast conditions.

Ovia Sam (15) and opener Simon Atai (13) were the top-scorers as Papua? New Guinea got?? bowled out for a paltry 64 in 21.5 overs.

The boys in blue overhauled the target in just eight overs, riding on Shaw’s 39-ball 57 which was studded with 12 boundaries. It was Shaw’s second half-century of the tournament, while Roy picked his maiden five-wicket haul in youth ODIs.

In a controversial ??decision that is set to create a debate over the spirit of cricket, South Africa batsman Jiveshan Pillay was given out for obstructing t?he field in the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup against the defending champions West Indies on Wednesday.

Facing Windies quick Jarion Hoyte, Pillay?? mistimed an expansive cover drive a??nd edged the ball into his pads.

The ball dribbled?? towards the stumps but stopped before hitting the woodwork.

Pillay then tapped the resting ball with his bat, picked it up and ??threw it to West Indies wicketkeeper and captain Emmanuel Stewart.

Stewart was then seen talking to the two standing umpires before Pillay was given out?? obstructing the?? field.

But while the deci??sion is bound to spark a widespread debate, there was very little the umpires could do, as they just followed the law.

According to Law 37.4 (Returning the ball to a fielder): “Either batsman is out Obstructing the field if, at any time while the ball is in play and, without the consent of a fielder, he/she uses the bat or any part of his/her person to return the ball to any fielder.”

The Under-19 India captain scored a masterful 94 off 100 balls against Australia at Mount Maunganui in New Zealand on S?unday as the boys in blue walked away with an easy 100-run win in what was their first game of ??the tournament.

India started their ICC U-19 World Cup campaign with a 100-run victory over Australia at Mount Maunganui. Jack Edwards’s all-round show went in vain as India’s top-three batsmen notched up the fifties to set the team up for a 328 run total before their bowlers wrapped up Australia for just 228.

India posted a mammoth 180-run partnership for the first wicket before Indian skipper Prithvi Shaw departed six short of his hundred. Manjot Kalra got out on 84 as India crossed the 200-run mark. Shubman Gill then hit a 54-ball 63 to take India past the 250-r??un mark. Useful contributions from the tailenders further propelled the total to 328.

Two Indian quicks Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi? picked three wickets each to wrap up Australia’s innings in the 43rd over itself. Nagarkoti and Ma??vi bowled over 145kmhr on a regular basis as they troubled the Aussie batsmen.

Nagarkoti even touched 147kph which was the quickest by any player in the match but perhaps may also become the quickest in the tournament. Some peop??le were reminded of Shaun Tait while some were in awe of how an 18-year-old was able to outsmart the Aussies, who have the reputation of acing the pace department.
