The Yash Dhull-led Indian side crushed Sri Lanka by nine wickets in the final of the Under 19 Men’s Asia Cup 2021 to seal their eighth ??title at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Chasing the revised target of 102 in 38 overs due to the DLS method, India opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 56 off 67 balls to help his side register a dominating win over Sri Lanka in 21.3 overs. Shaik Rasheed also chi??pped in with a val??uable 31 not out off 49 deliveries.

The All-In?dia Junior Selection Committee has picked a strong 20-member India squad for the ninth edition of the U19 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be played in ??the UAE from December 23, 2021 to January 1, 2022.

Delhi batsman Yash Dhull?? has been na?med captain of the Men in Blue for the multi-team tournament.

Dhull was a leading run-scorer in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy earlier this year. He managed to score 302 runs for the DDCA at a phenomenal average of 75.50 in five matches??.

The select?ors have also announced a 25-?member squad for a preparatory camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru from December 11-19, ahead of the upcoming event.

The selectors, however, mentioned that India’s squad for the forthcoming U19 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the West Indies from January 14 to February 4 next year, would be announced later.

Two-time defending champions India have w??on U-19 Asia Cup six times in last eight editions while sharing the coveted trophy with their arch-rivals Pakistan in 2012.
