England showcased their superiority in the second ODI at Kingsmead, defeating South Africa by 6 wickets. The visitors?all-round performance sealed the match and the series, with Charlie Dean lea?ding the charge as the Player of the Match for her remarkable bowli?ng display.

Charlie Dean shines with magnificent bowling show

Batting first after losing the toss, South Africa struggled to build momentum and were bundled out for 135 runs in just 31.3 overs. Chloe Tryon was the lone bright spot in their innings, scoring an aggressive 45 off 49 balls, including eight boundaries. Laura Wolvaardt chipped in ?with 35 runs off 50 de?liveries, but the rest of the lineup failed to make an impact.

England’s bowlers, especially Dean and Sophie Ecclestone, proved too hot to handle. Dean recorded brilliant figures of 4 for 45 in her full quota of 10 overs, including a hat-trick, while Ecclestone complemented her with 3 for 27 in 7.3 overs. Lauren Filer also c?ontributed with 3 w??ickets, making life difficult for the South African batters.

England’s comfortable chase

Chasing a modest target of 136, England were clinical with the bat, reaching the target in just 24 overs. Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier provided a solid start with scores of 34 and 33 respectively. Although there were minor stumbles, Danielle Wyatt‘s quickfire 25 off 23 deliveries ensured a smooth finish.

South Africa’s bowling attack struggled to find breakthroughs, with Annerie Dercksen being the most successful, picking up 2 wickets for 22 runs in her 4 overs. Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk managed one wicket each, but their efforts were insufficient to defend th??e low total.

Dean’s outstanding performanc??e with the ball was instrumental in dismantling South Africa’s batting lineup. Her ability to extract turn and bounce troubled the hosts, making her the deserved P?layer of the Match.

betvisa liveSAvENG – Cricket Times - betvisa casino //betvisa68.com/2023/10/world-cup-2023-pakistan-legend-wasim-akram-unveils-the-best-white-ball-middle-order-batter/ Sun, 22 Oct 2023 09:16:43 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=103159

Former Pakistan fast bowler and cricketing legend Wasim Akram has recently voiced his opinion on who he believes is the best middle-order batter in the world of white-ball cricket. The announcement came in the aftermath of a thrilling encounter during the World Cup 2023 fixture between South Africa and England. Notably, the Proteas produced a top-class performance, securing a dominant victory by a staggering margin?? of 229 runs.

Akram names his choice

South Africa’s victory was anchored by the formidable right-handed batsman, Heinrich Klaasen. In praise of Klaasen’s performance, Akram unequivocally named him as the best white-ball middle-order batter currently in the world of cricket.

“I mean, look at that guy, Heinrich Klaasen. In my opinion, he is the best white-ball middle-order batsman in the world at the moment,” Akra??m stated during an interview at The Pavilio?n Show on A Sports.

The challenges of batting at number 5

Akram’s endorsement of Klaasen as the best middle-order batter is significant, as he elaborated on the unique challenges faced by a batsman positioned at number 5 in the batting order. According to Akram, this position demands versatility and composure, as these batters often find themselves walking in either during the slog overs or when the top-order has crumbled.

“That is a very difficult position to bat at number 5. Usually, either you are batting in the last 10 (overs) or when 3 or 4 wickets are down,” Akram explained.

Akram’s insights into the demanding role of a middle-order batter provide a greater appreciation for Klaasen’s impressive performance during the World Cup 2023, solidifying his reputation as one of the best in the white-ball format. Notably, in 4 matches, Klaasen has scored 198 runs at an impressive average of 49.50 and a strike rate of 139.44. He has so far slammed 20 fours and 7 sixes in the tournament.

England all-rounder Moeen Ali surprised everyone with an attempted one-hand??ed reverse slog in the third and final ODI against South Africa at the Diamond Oval, Kimberley.

It all happened in the 44th over of the first innings when Mooen had scored 12 from eight balls and was facing the wrist spin of Tabraiz Shamsi. On the fourth delivery, the southpaw attempted an audacious innovation. He tried to hit the ball as if he had a ?racquet in his hand, which was a right-handed top-spin for??ehand.

The only trouble was that Moeen missed the line of the ball. He used just one hand to get more elevation on the ball but l?ost all shape and control in the shot.

The second One-Day International (ODI) between South Africa and England was a high-scoring encounter where the hosts managed to register a thrilling victory. This was the second consecutive win for the Proteas, and the??y claimed the series as well.

South Africa chased down the massive target of 343 and completed the highest successful chase at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. It all happened after the third delivery of the 19th over of South Africa’s innings bowled by leg spinner Adil Rashid.

Van der Dussen couldn’t pick up the googly from Rashid as he inside-edged the ball onto his pad which went up into the air. Buttler, who was behind the stumps, attempted to take the catch, but it appeared that the batter got in his way as he looked to see where the ball had gone.

Then Van der Dussen made a comment which was not picked up on the stump mic, and Buttler responded by saying: “I’m trying to get to the ball. What’s your problem, Rassie? It’s not all about you all the time.” Van der Dussen then replied: “No, it’s about you.”

“I’m allowed to try and catch the ball. What do you want me to do? “ added Buttler. After which, the umpires intervened, with one of them heard shouting: “Okay, calm down!”

Here is the video:

Speaking about the game, England, after being asked to bat, posted 342/7 on the board, thanks to brilliant knocks from Buttler and Harry Brooks. The English skipper fell 6 r?uns short of his hundred as he remained unbeaten on 94, including 8 fours and 3 sixes. Likewise, Brook smashed 80 off 75 with the help of 7 fours and 4 sixes.

In response, the Proteas chased down the target with five balls to spare, courtesy of Temba Bavuma‘s scintillating century and David Miller‘s late flourish. Bavuma made 109 off 102, including 15 boundaries, while Miller stayed unbeaten on 58 from 37 deliveries.
