During the exciting contest between Ro??yal Challenge?rs Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), RCB fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was seen using cuss words against a fellow teammate Mahipal Lomror after a missed run out.

It all happened on the penultimate over of the Royals’ innings when they were getting closer to the target, and things began to heat up at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Dhruv Jurel hit Siraj’s short delivery, and after completing the single, Ravichandran Ashwin, who was at the other end, ran for a double.

Lomror quickly retrieved the ball, but his throw to Siraj was awkward, resulting in Siraj accidentally kicking over the stumps. Siraj was frustrated with Lomror’s throw and responded by verbally abusing him. However, Lomror remained unperturbed and returned to his fielding position for the 20th over.

In a match review video released on RCB’s official YouTube channel, Siraj disclosed that he has apologised to Lomror for his actions on the field.

“I am so angry, man. Sorry. I have apologized to him twice already. I don’t carry the aggression off the field. It all calms down post the match,” said Siraj.

Exhibiting sportsmanship, Lomror graciously accepted Siraj’s apology and added that such minor occurrences are common during matches. He said: “It’s alright, Siraj bhai. Such small things keep happening in such big matches.”

Speaking about the match, RCB triumphed over RR by a margin of seven runs in the match. After setting a total of 189/9 on the scoreboard, thanks to excellent performances from Glenn Maxwell (77 off 44) and Faf du Plessis (62 off 39), Bangalore batted first. Despite putting up a good fight, RR was h?eld to a score of 182/6 in their chase.

As part of this initiative, RCB plays the “Green Game” every IPL season. The jerseys RCB players have donned today are recycled and made from waste collected at the stadium. Notably, the stadium generate??s approximately eight tons of waste per match, which is processed through wa??ste segregation practices to make recycled products.

RCB has f?ormed a Green Army in collaboration with Goodera, a sustainability help group and the Implementation Partner for Go Green Initiative, to keep the ground premises clean. Additionally, the Bangalore-based franchise intends to expand its green initiativ??es and encourage fans from all over the world to join the crusade to promote sustainable and eco-friendly living.

The initiative this year will include the restoration of two lakes in South Bengaluru and the rollout of Green School certification to nearly 200 schools. Furthermore, it is also noteworthy that RCB conducts cricket matches using solar an??d wind power at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, making it an eco-friendly cricket venue.

“As part of our year-long commitment, we will enable and encourage sustainability for the people, of the people, and by the people through a unique fan-driven model of carbon neutrality and rejuvenating and restoring the city lakes which were once the pride of Bangalore city. We also feel we need to begin early in life to start living consciously and therefore Green School is an initiative to involve future generations to be a part of the movement,” said Rajesh Menon, VP and Head of RCB.
