In the contest, the Atlanta Riders won the toss and chose to bat first. Openers Robin Uthappa and Lendl Simmons got off to a steady start, reaching the 50-run mark in the fifth over. Simmons, in particular, was in a??ggressive form, smashing three sixes and four boundaries in that period. By the seventh over, the Riders were at a comfortable 72/0.

Simmons played a pivotal role in the Atlanta Riders’ innings, amassing 41 runs before his departure in the 8th over. This strong start took the Riders to a score of 83/1 by the conclusion of that over. Following Simmons’ exit, Robin Uthappa, who contributed 32 runs, also departed. With Dwayne Smith and Hamilton Masakadza at the crease, the Riders were well-positioned at 98 for 2 after eight overs. On the first ball of the ninth over, Khan clean-bowled Masakadza, who was attempting a big shot but failed to make contact. Next, Hammad Azam was dismissed on the very next ball as the ball took an inside edge from the bat, hit the pads, and disturbed the stumps. Khan then completed his hat-trick by sending former New Zealand cricketer Grant Elliott back to the pavilion; Elliott was given out? leg-before-wicket while trying to flick the ball towards the fine leg region.

Khan didn’t stop there; he knocked over Harmeet Singh on the next delivery, completing a remarkable four wickets in four balls. Smith and Nasir Hossain managed to take the Riders to 103/6 in the??ir allotted 10 overs. Khan finished his spell ??with a figure of 4/15.

In response, the Warriors faced early setbacks as opener Kamran Akmal departed in the first over for just 4 runs, followed by the loss of Richard Levi in the second over. Nevertheless, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Jonathan Carter formed a crucial partnership. Dilshan showcased an aggressive batting approach but was dismissed for 24 in the fifth over, with the Warriors at 39/3.
