This edition of the Champions Trophy holds special significance as ??it marks the return of a major ICC event to Pakistan after a long gap. The tournament will also provide a platform for teams to assert their dominance ahead of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Moin Khan criticizes Pakistan players’ approach against India

Former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper-batter Moin Khan has stirred discussions with his remarks on Pakistan playerson-field behavior while playing against India. During a recent podcast with Ushna Shah, Moin expressed his concerns regarding the ??camaraderie shown by Pakistan cricketers towards their Indian counter??????????????????????????parts during matches.

“When I watch matches between Pakistan and India these days, I don’t understand that as soon as the Indian players come to the crease, our players check their bats, pat them, and have friendly conversations,” Moin stated.

The former ??cricketer suggested that while mutual respect is essential, there should be a competitive edge when playing against an arch-rival. He emp??hasized the importance of professionalism and maintaining a certain level of intensity during such high-stakes encounters.

“Even off the field, being a professional player, you must have some limits,” he added, signaling his belief that Pakistan players should? adopt a more focused and aggressive approach while facing India.

While analyzing the? upcoming tournament, Moin predicted that India and Pakistan are the strongest contenders to lift the Champions Trophy in 2025.

“India and Pakistan are strong contenders to win the Champions Trophy this time,” Moin declared, backing the two cricketing giants to make a deep run in the compet??ition.

Notably, both teams have a rich history in the tournament, with India winning the title twice (2002 [jointly], 2013) and Pakistan clinching their maiden Champions Trophy in 2017. Given their pas??t? performances and current squad strengths, it comes as no surprise that Moin sees them as favorites.

India, with their well-balanced team and depth in both batting and bowling, will be a formidable force. Meanwhile, Pakistan, playing on home soil and familiar conditions, will have? an added advantage in their que?st to reclaim the trophy.

betvisa casinoMoin Khan – Cricket Times - betvisa cricket //betvisa68.com/2025/01/pakistans-moin-khan-names-3-most-dangerous-bowlers-in-world-cricket/ Wed, 29 Jan 2025 05:03:05 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=175001

The debate over who the most dangerous bowler in cricket history is has been ongoing for decades. Fast bowlers have always played a crucial role in the game, with their raw pace, accuracy, and ability to generate swing and bounce making them a nightmare for batters. Every era has produced exceptional pacers who have dominated opposition batters and won matches for their teams. From the fearsome West Indian quicks of the pa??st to moder??n-day fast bowlers, the discussion about the most lethal pacers remains open-ended.

While some believe the likes of Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, and Shoaib Akhtar should be in the conversation, others argue that the West Indiesdominance in the past was unmatched. Former Pakistan cricketer Moin Khan recently weighed in on this d?ebate and named the three bowlers he considers the most dangerous in world cricket.

Moin Khan picks three most lethal bowlers

Choosing the most dangerous bowlers in cricket history is a difficult task, but Moin had no hesitation in naming his top three. The former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter overlooked Pakistani and Indian pacers and instead picked three legendary West Indian fast bowlersstrong>Malcolm Marshall, Courtney Walsh, and Curtly Ambrose.

“When we used to play, there were many bowlers but the West Indies players were very dangerous. They used to be tall. I believe that at that time the West Indies bowlers were the most dangerous bowlers in the world. In my view, Courtney Walsh, Malcolm Marshall and Curtly Ambrose were the most dangerous bowlers,” said Moin as quoted by NDTV.

Moin’s selections highlight the dominance of West Indian fast bowlers during the late 20th century. Marshall, widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, possessed exceptional control, pace, and the ability to generate late swing. Similarly Walsh was known for his relentless accuracy and ability to extract bounce and was a nightmare for batters, while Ambrose, with his towering height and lethal deliveries, made life difficult for even the best in the world.

Modern-day fast bowlers continue the legacy

While Moin’s choices ?reflect an era when West Indian pacers ruled the cricketing world, fast bowling continues to thrive in modern cricket. Today’s game features several speedsters who have established themselves as match-winners with their pace, movement, and con??sistency.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah, with his unorthodox action and ability to deliver pinpoint yorkers, has been one of the most feared bowlers in world cricket. Australia’s Mitchell Starc, known for his raw pace and deadly inswinging deliveries, has also terrorized batters across formats. Other pacers, such as England’s Jofra Archer and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada, have carri?ed forward the legacy of fast bowling dominance.

betvisa liveMoin Khan – Cricket Times - betvisa casino //betvisa68.com/2024/09/former-pakistan-cricketer-moin-khan-slams-pcb-and-ramiz-raja-for-the-treatment-of-his-son-azam-khan/ Sat, 14 Sep 2024 11:04:13 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=155165

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Moin Khan has expressed deep concern and frustration over the treatment his son, Azam Khan, has received from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its former chairman, Ramiz Raja. Khan believes that Azam’s potential has been hindered by the board’s decisions and actions, leading to a decline in his confidence and performance.

Azam Khan: A rising star with a setback

Azam, a promising young cricketer, has faced a series of challenges in his career. His father, Moin, has been a vocal critic of the PCB’s handling of his son’s affairs. Moin believes that Azam’s talent and potential have been overshadowed by the board’s mismanagement.

The T20 World Cup controversy

One of the most contentious issues raised by Moin was the exclusion of Azam from the Pakistan squad for the 2022 T20 Worl?d Cup. Moin argued that Azam was a valuable asset to the team and his omission was a strategic blunder. He criticized Ramiz, the then-PCB chairman, for making such a decision.

“I watched the entire World Cup and the matches leading up to it, and it seemed like Azam was the number one choice for wicketkeeping and batting. Then suddenly, after just one match, the entire strategy was changed. Azam wasn’t given a chance to keep wickets after one match and was dropped after getting out on the very first ball. Any player can get out on the first ball, but here the tradition of developing players that used to exist is no longer there. Whether it’s the captain or the management, if they make such quick changes to players, how can we produce good players?,” said Moin as quoted by CricketPakistan.

A Pattern of Mistreatment?

Moin has alleged that Azam has been subjected to a pattern of mistreatment by the PCB. He claimed that his son has been unfairly dropped from important matches and tournaments, despite performing well. Khan believes that this treatment has had a negative impact on Azam’s morale and his ability to concentrate on his game.

Mo??in has called on the PCB to treat Azam fairly and provide him with the necessary support to realize his full potential. He has urged the board to reconsider its past decisions and give Azam a fresh start.

“In the 2022 World Cup, Azam was also selected for the team, but Ramiz Raja dropped him. At that time, if the chief selector had made a wrong selection, he should have been removed, but they didn’t have the courage, and as a result, they demoralized a young player. In this World Cup as well, you can see how he was played. I’m not saying that all the blame lies with the team management and the captain; Azam has his own shortcomings too. He needs to make himself physically and mentally stronger, follow the fitness routines of other sportsmen. For the past month or so, I’ve noticed he’s been working hard to improve his fitness with his trainer Shehzar Mohammad, even taking him along to the Caribbean League. I hope Azam has learned a lot from this experience,” he added.

A plea for transparency

Moin has also emphasized the importance of tran??sparency in the selection process for the n??ational team. He believes that the PCB should be more open about its decision-making and provide clear explanations for its choices.

As the controversy surrounding Azam’s treatment continues, it remains to be seen how the PCB will respond to Moin’s allegations. The future of the young cricketer hangs in the balance, and the outcome of this dispute will have significant implications for Pakistan cricket.

Imam-ul-Haq, the Pakistan batter, recently unveiled his all-time ODI XI for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. His selection reflects a blend of icon?ic players spanning different eras of Pakistan cricket.

Opening prowess

For the opening pair, Imam chose Saeed Anwar and Babar Azam. Saeed, widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s best batters ever, earned his place at the top due to his prolific run-scoring and consistency. Babar, current captain of the team and one of the finest ODI batters globally, was selected to open alongside Anwar, primarily because of his outstanding performances over the past seven years.

“Since it was very difficult for me to set [him] in the middle order. So, I went for Babar Azam as the opener. The way he has performed in ODI cricket for the last seven years his performances for Pakistan are very good,” Imam was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Middle order dominance

Moving to the middle order, Imam picked Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf. These three stalwarts were pivotal in Pakistan’s success in ODIs, providing stability and match-winning performances throughout their careers.

Captain Marvel

Imran Khan, the legendary all-rounder who led Pakistan to their maiden World Cup victory in 1992, was chosen as the captain of the team. Known for his exceptional leadership and all-round skills, Imran Khan’s influence on Pakistan cricket in the 80s and 90s was immense.

Safe hands and power with the bat

In the wicketkeeper-batter role, Imam opted for Kamran Akmal. Despite other options like Moin Khan and Sarfaraz Khan, Akmal’s ability to deliver match-winning innings in ODIs swayed Imam’s decision.

“I’ll go with Kamran Akmal as the wicketkeeper-batsman. It was a bit tricky for me. There were a lot of options like Moin bhai and Saifi bhai but I’ll go with Kamran Akmal because he has a lot of match-winning performances in ODIs,” Imam concluded.

Bowling arsenal

Turning to the bowling department, Imam selected Saqlain Mushtaq, Mohammad Asif, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Saqlain, known for his mastery of spin bowling and invention of the “doosra,” provided variety to the attack. Asif, renowned for his accuracy and ability to trouble batter, complemented the lethal pace duo of Akram and Younis, who are considered among the most feared bowlers in cricket history.

The 12th Man

Shahid Afridi, a dynamic all-rounder known for his explosive batting and effective leg-spin bowling, was named as the 12th man in Imam’s XI, highlighting his impact despite not making the starting lineup. While his son-in-law and Pakistan’s current leader of pace attack, Shaheen Afridi failed to make his place in the roaster.

Ahmed Shehzad, a former cricketer, recently revealed his ultimate Pakistan XI during a local channel show, focusing solely on legends from previous generations as current players failed to find a place in Shehzad’s line-up.

Pakistan’s opening duo

Shehzad chose Saeed Anwar and Majid Khan as his opening pair. He praised Anwar’s versatility across the ground and admired Majid’s stylish batting and numerous records from his era.

“Saeed Anwar was a universally loved player who could dominate from any position on the field. I’ve watched many videos of Majid Khan, and his batting style was elegant with numerous records from his era,” Shehzad was quoted as saying by Pakistan Today.

Middle-Order Maestros

In the middle order, Shehzad included Zaheer Abbas, known for his aesthetic cover drives and dominance over bowlers. Younis Khan, recognized for his diligent work ethic and impressive stats, was a must-have for Shehzad. Javed Miandad, a childhood hero of Shehzad’s, found his place due to his undeniable impact. Shahid Afridi‘s dual ability to smash sixes and bowl spin made him a challenging but deserving choice. Moin Khan was selected as the wicket-keeper fo??r his neat takes behind the stumps.

“He [Zaheer Abbas] was pleasing to the eye, the cover drive was great and used to dominate the bowlers. Younis Khan was a hard-working player with very good stats. Having him on any side is icing on the cake. I know I have placed him below but how can I miss Javed Miandad? Growing up watching him play, I had to adjust to him somewhere in my team. Shahid Afridi is the batter who can hit sixes and bowl spin. It was a tough call but for the wicketkeeper spot, Moin Khan used to take neat takes with the ball going smoothly in his gloves,” the 32-year-old added.

Bowling powerhouses

Shehzad’s bowling lineup featured Saqlain Mushtaq, credited as the ‘Doosra’ pioneer, for his match-winning performances and impressive statistics. Wasim Akram, an iconic figure in cricket, was an automatic selection due to his legendary achievements. Mohammad Zahid, known for h??is pace and skill, added depth to the pace attack alongside Shoaib Akhtar, one of the fa?stest bowlers in cricket history.

“Saqlain has won us matches and has great stats. It’s impossible if someone is playing in their childhood and is not following Wasim Akram and his achievements. Zahid played very little cricket and I remember once Brian Lara said, he is the fastest I have ever played,” Shehzad concluded.

No place for Babar Azam

Shehzad’s decision to exclude current captain Babar Azam from his ultimate Pakistan XI and other high-profile platers like Shaheen Afridi shows his doubt on the potential on the current crop, especially given Babar’s stature as one of Pakistan’s modern cricketing icons known for his consistent run-scoring and leadership qualities.

However, Pakistan faced an embarrassing defeat in the T20 World Cup 2024, exiting at the group stage. Throughout the tournament, Shehzad’s frustration over Babar’s captaincy has become increasingly apparent. Several media reports indicated tension between Shehzad and skipper Babar, with whom he had previously shared the field in age-group cricket.

Former Pakistan cricketer Moin Khan has lambasted Babar Azam‘s leadership after Pakistan’s massive defeat against India at the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup on Saturday. Khan, a seasoned cricketer himself, didn’t hold back in his critique of the Pakistani skipper, branding him a “scared captain.”

Lack of intent was visible: Khan on Babar

Notably, after being asked to bat, Pakistan put on a below-par total of 191 runs in 42.5 overs with Babar scoring 50 off 58 ball??s. He emphasized that Babar ?should have maintained a more aggressive stance and attacked the bowlers rather than opting for a defensive approach.

According to Khan, the intent shown by the captain reflects on the entire team’s performance. Babar’s lack of intent, in Khan’s view, may have hindered Pakistan’s chances of setting a competitive total.

“Babar’s batting in terms of intent, as captain, it was not his natural game. He took 58 balls…He should’ve maintained the flow a bit and attacked slightly. Ye to intent hota hain, pura reflect karta hai team ke andar (the intent reflects in the team),” said Khan in a TV show as quoted by TOI.

Khan observes Babar displayed signs of fear as a captain

Khan further reckoned that Babar displayed signs of fear as the captain. He stated that when the captain appears hesitant to take risks and play attacking shots, it can influence the mindset of other players. This, in turn, can lead to a collective lack of aggression and intent in the team, a scenario he believes played out in Pakistan’s dramatic collapse after being in a strong position during the match against India.

“Aapka kaptaan jab dara hua nazar ayega, nahi khelega, to ladke bhi phir wese hi react karte hain (If your captain looks afraid to play his shots, the other players in the team also react similarly). They looked under pressure, and clearly, because of this, they didn’t execute proper shots. Aap pehle se dare hue honge ‘yaar mai shots khelunga to out na ho jaun’ (you are afraid beforehand, thinking you’ll get out while playing shots). I didn’t see intent from any batters,” he added.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Pakistan’s upcoming matches, and the pressure on Babar to prove himself as a formidable leader and player has undoubtedly intensified.

The sixth match of the Asia Cup 2023 saw Afghanistan and Sri Lanka battle against each other in a thrilling encounter at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday (September 5). Although Afghanistan lost the contest and failed to secure a spot in the Super 4 round of the continental event, Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi stole the sho??w with a sensational batting performance an??d shattered many records in the process.

After losing the toss and being asked to field first, Afghanistan bowlers struggled to contain the Sri Lankan batters. Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka shined for the Sri Lankan side, smashing 41 and 92 runs, respectively. On the other hand, Gulbadin Naib ??impressed with the ball for Afghanistan, claiming a brilliant four-fer for 60 runs in his quota ?of 10 overs.

Mohammad Nabi becomes first Afghanistan batter to complete 5000 international runs

In reply, Afghan??istan needed to chase the target in 37.1 overs to sail to the Super 4 round and looked very much into the race after Nabi smashed quickfire 65 runs off 32 deliveries with a staggering strike rate of 203.12 to shift the momentum in Afghanistan’s favour. In the process, Nabi created history by be??coming the first Afghanistan batter to amass 5,000 runs in international cricket.

It is worth mentioning that Nabi has represented Afghanistan in 259 international matches and has also served as the national side’s captain for a brief period of time, with 21 international fifties and a century to his name. he star-all-rounder reached the fifty-run m??ark against Sri Lanka in just 24 balls and also became the batter to hit the fastest ODI fifty for his nation.

  • 24 balls – Mohammad Nabi vs SL, Lahore, 2023
  • 26 balls – Mujeeb Ur Rahman vs PAK, Colombo, 2023

  • 28 balls – Mohammad Nabi vs ZIM, Bulawayo, 2014
  • 28 balls – Shafiqullah Shinwari vs IRE, Greater Noida, 2017

Apart from this, the other milestone that Nabi achieved with his fifty against Sri Lanka was superseding India’s Virender Sehwag, compatriot Rashid Khan and Pakistan’s Moin Khan to become the second batter to bat with the highest strike rate in an Asia Cup innings (minimum 30 balls faced) after Pakistan veteran Shahid Afridi.

The fixture between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators in ?the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was an intriguing one.

However, one instance in? the match which will be etched in the me?mory of spectators, and also in the reels of bloopers this season.

Quetta Gladiator batsman Azam Khan (46) while reaching the crease during one of his runs, held the bat upside down.
In the end, it was the han?dle of the bat which slid inside the crease, instead of the toe-end of the bat, leaving everyone in splits.

Luckily, the ball did not hit the stumps directly and Khan managed ??to make his ground.

Here’s the video:
