Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Monday, announced the replacement of Shaheen Afridi for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, schedu??led to start on August 27 in the United Arab Emirates?? (UAE).

Notably, the left-arm pacer was ruled out of the mu?lti-team event after being advised a 4-6 weeks rest by the medical team following an injury to his right knee ligament. Afridi had sustained the injury while ??fielding during the opening Test against Sri Lanka in Galle last month.

Mohammad Hasnain, the Pakistan speedster, has been suspended from bowling in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Big Bash League (BBL) as well as international cricket after failing to clear his bowling action, which was found illegal by umpire Gerard Abood during a match? between Sydney T??hunder and Adelaide Strikers on January 2.

“Instead, he will use this time to work with the PCB-appointed bowling consultant to modify his bowling action so that he can apply for a reassessment and become eligible to return to international cricket as quickly as practically possible. As per the Illegal Bowling Action Regulations, until Mohammad Hasnain clears his reassessment, he will remain suspended from bowling in international cricket.”

Bangladesh will tour Pakistan to play three T20Is, one ODI, and two Tests. The T20I series will begin from January 24, and the hosts ?have announced the 15-member squad for the 20 over leg.

This has played a critical role in our decision-making,” Misbah said in a statement.

“The seven players who have missed out on selection are by no means out of our planning, but considering their recent form in international cricket and taking into account other strong performances in our National T20 Cup, we have decided to make these changes.”

“The Pakistan Super League 2020 is starting in four weeks, and if they can reclaim their winning form, then they will be back in contention for the upcoming assignments, including the Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup,” Misbah added.
