The Capitals, led by Ian Bell, successfully chased down the target in a last-over finish. Veteran pacer S. Konark Suryas Odisha replaces Bhilwara Kings, who were part of the 2023 season.

Format of the tournament

The teams?? have been divided into two groups of three, with each team playing a total of seven matches. In the league stage, teams will play each other twice within their group and once against teams in the opposing group. The top four teams from both groups will advance to the playoffs.

In the playoffs, the top two teams will compete in a Qualifier to secure a direct spot in the final. The third and fourth-ranked teams will face off in an Eliminator to determine who will advance to the semifinals. The losing team from the Qualifier will have a second chance to reach the final by playing the winner? of the Eliminator.

Notably, the recently-retired Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik are set to make their d??ebuts in the biggest T20 league for the legendary cricketers.
