Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni shared a light-hearted moment with Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) veteran Chris Gayle after their IPL T20 clash in Dubai on Sunday. Dhoni came out in the ground to shake hands with the opposition after CSK’s emphatic 10-wicket victory.

Imitating Gayle’s walking style, Dhoni went to him and shook hands before having a chat. The West Indies giant didn’t play the match against CSK. In fact, he hasn’t featured in a single game for KXIP this season.

The Super Kings registered a big win over Punjab after three successive losses, and the smile on Dhoni’s face after the match was enough to express the happiness.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are in sublime form

As far as Rahul and Agarwal are concerned, the duo, personally, has had a decent outing in the T20 extravaganza. Both are among the leading run-scorers in the tournament, however, have lacked support from the others. In the game against CSK, Rahul didn’t flatter to deceive. Opening the batting, the 28-year-old notched 63 runs off 52 balls with the help of seven fours and a six.

Overall, he has 302 runs from five matches at a phenomenal average of 75.50. Mayank, on the other hand, is in riveting form as well. The right-hander has 272 runs to his name in 5 matches. On Sunday, he got off to a flying start, scoring 26 off 19 balls with three fours. Despite their best efforts, KXIP are currently placed at the bottom of the points table with one win from their five encounters.

Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis slammed unbeaten half-centuries as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) demo?lished Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets to snap their string of losses in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

CSK relished a much-needed victory after three successi??ve defeats, overhauling a ??179-run target with ease.

Watson (83 not out) and Du Plessis (87 not out) ensured that there was no close finish this time, reducing the match to a ‘no-contest’ with their skilful batting.

The former Australia international punished Kings XI bowlers with 11 fours and three sixes in his 53-ball unbeaten knock while Du Ple??ssis hit 11 fours and a six from 53 balls to remain not out.

Earlier, KXIP skipper KL Rahul played a well-calculated 63-run knock to lead Kings XI Punjab to a competitive total of 178/4 after electing to bat first. Rahul’s risk-free 63 came off 52 balls with the help of seven fours and a six as he shared a 61-run stand with fellow opener Mayank Agarwal (26) and then raised a 58-run partnership with Nicholas Pooran (33 off 17).

KXIP looked set for a bigger total, but both Pooran and Rahul were dismissed by pacer Shardul Thakur off successive balls in the 18th over.

The need of the hour during lockdown was to find innovative techniques to make children do their homework, and that was my method as well,” she said while speaking to IANS.

Sakshi further stated that she is now missing her husband as he is currently in the UAE for IPL. “I am not really missing it (attending IPL in a stadium) as I am following it diligently on TV, but I miss my husband. Honestly, it would’ve been difficult for Ziva and me to be in the bubble for over two months,” Sakshi added.

The game between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings turned out to be a thriller with the home side edging out by four runs despite an MS Dhoni special that scared to take away the game from their hand??s.

Chris Gayle struck a 33-ball 63 on his debut for KXIP as they finished with 197/7 after yet another middle-order collapse. CSK’s equation came down to 65 needed in the last 21 balls from where MSD produced a special knock. The CSK skipper scored 46 in the next 16 balls he faced to take his team to 193/5, four runs short of the Punjab total.

However, what’s more bothering for CSK than the defeat was Dhoni’s lower-back injury, which he sustained during his knock of unbeaten 79. He took the treatment from the team physio during the strategic time out, but the batsman looked in severe discomfort till the final over.

When asked about the same, Dhoni sounded positive and he felt it should be okay before the next game starts on 20th of April, which is still four days away. He went on to add that he’s now used to playing the game of cricket with injuries.

“It’s bad; how bad it is, I don’t know. God has given me the power. I don’t need to use the back a lot, the hands can do the job. But overall, we’ll assess how bad it is. It shouldn’t be too bad because I know what really happened and once you know the kind of injury it is, it becomes slightly easy to get out of it and also we have three-four days now before the next game. I’m quite used to playing with few injuries, whether it is back, fingers, elbow or something else,” said Dhoni while speaking to Isa Guha during the post-match presentation ceremony.

Many fans and cricket experts were unimpressed with Dhoni for sending Ravindra Jadeja up the order ahead of Dwayne Bravo, the decision which cost CSK the game. Speaking about the same, Dhoni said that he will back the all-rounder? as he has played only a few games this season and he deserves to get more opportunities ahead.

“We have confidence in Jadeja because he being a left-hander is not easy for the bowlers. This is the time we need to give him the opportunity.
