The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled a strong 16-player squad for the upcoming T20I series against India, set to kick off on July 9. However, Bangladesh’s experienced campaigner and veteran fast bowler Jahanara Alam didn’t find a place in the squad announced by the board and has been left out of the team.

It is worth mentioning that Jahanara is the fourth-highest wicket-taker for the Tig?resses in T20Is and had previously been excluded from the WODI squad for the series against India as well. Her omission came after she recently represented Ban?gladesh in three matches on a Sri Lanka tour.

Another notable absence from the T20I squad is Fargana Hoque, who features in the ODI squad but has been named among the standbys for the T20Is. Alongside Pinky, Lata Mondal, Sharmin Akter Supta and Fariha Trisna are also standby players.

Speaking of new additions, the selectors have decided to recall veteran spinner and former captain Salma Khatun into the T20I set-up. Khatun’s return adds experience and depth to the Bangladesh squad, enhancing their chances of putting up a strong performance against the Indian team. Dilara Akter and Marufa Akter, who impressed in the U19 T20 World Cup earlier this year, have also earned a well-deserved comeback to the national squ??ad.

The highly anticipated India tour to Bangladesh will commence with three T20Is on July 9, 11, and 13, all taking place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Following the T20I series, the teams will transition to the ODI format, with matches scheduled from July 16 to July 22. Bangladesh will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Niga?r Sultana Joty in both the T20I and ODI series.

Bangladesh T20I squad for the series against India:

Nigar Sultana Joty (c/wk), Nahida Akter (vc), Dilara Akter, Shathi Rani, Shamima Sult?ana, Sobhana Mostary, Murshida Khatun, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Disha Biswas, Marufa Akter, Shanjida Akther Meghla, Rabeya Khan, Sultana Khatun, Salma Khatun and Fahima Khatun.

Standbys: Fargana Hoque, Lata Mondol, Sharmin Akter Supta, Fariha Islam T??risna

betvisa888 cricket betJahanara Alam – Cricket Times - betvisa login //betvisa68.com/2023/06/jahanara-alam-left-out-as-bangladesh-announces-womens-squad-for-white-ball-series-against-india/ Tue, 27 Jun 2023 08:15:04 +0000 //betvisa68.com/2023/06/jahanara-alam-left-out-as-bangladesh-announces-womens-squad-for-white-ball-series-against-india/

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled the preliminary squad for the upcoming white-ball series against India starting July 09 in Dhaka. The announcement sees the return of former national captain Salma Khatun and pacer Marufa Akter, while experienced players Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed have been left out.

Khatun, who showcased her remarkable performance in the recently-concluded Premier Division Women’s Cricket League by claiming 17 wickets, has earned her spot back in the national setup. Her exclusion from the previous series against Sri Lanka raised eyebrows, but her strong performance has propelled her back into contention.

Similarly, Akter, who missed the Sri Lanka tour due to her examinations, has also made a comeback. Her exceptional? form in domestic cricket has caught the attention of the selectors, and they believe she can make a valuable contribution to the team.

However, the experienced c??ampaigner Jahanara failed to secure her place in the squad. Th?e exclusion of the seasoned pace bowler has surprised many cricket enthusiasts. Likewise, Rumana, another experienced player, has also been omitted from the preliminary squad, failing to regain her spot.

The team management’s decision to exclude Jahanara and Rumana against the high-profile Indian side suggests a focus on infusing fresh talent into the team. The management believes that introducing new faces will not only strengthen the squad for the upcoming series but also prepare them for future matches and tournaments.

“I think we need to understand that we have to look at the bigger picture and we have picked certain players keeping the future in mind. Look most of defeats in the recent past were largely due to our fielding, because we have given away 30 runs that forced us to think in a different way. With the World Cup coming up next year, we need to have a look at new cricketers,” a member of the team management told Cricbuzz.

betvisa loginJahanara Alam – Cricket Times - betvisa cricket //betvisa68.com/2020/08/bangladesh-women-all-rounder-jahanara-alam-reveals-her-favourite-ipl-team/ Wed, 12 Aug 2020 09:04:13 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=45705

For several ye??ars, Indian cricket has received a massive following and adulation?s from its neighbours, Bangladesh. Many players have also represented top-notch franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Bangladesh’s talismanic all-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan had? been a??n integral part of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) before making a move to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Also, Mustafizur Rahman?? turned out to be a revelation in the IPL, donning the colors of SRH. He was later bagged by IPL giants Mumbai Indians (MI).

Other stars from Bangladesh who participated in the cash-rich league were Mohammad Ashraful, Abd??ur Razzak, Mehedi Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team has had their own journey in international cricket. Speedster Jahanara Alam has been equally respons??ible for the Tigressesrise at the highest level.

Now, Alam has revealed her favourite out of the eight teams which participate in the lucrative tournament ?annually.

“KKR is my favourite IPL team. When Shakib Al Hasan bhai played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, I supported SRH as well. This time, there’s no Banglades?h cricketer in the IPL. I will support KKR itself. I can’t explain why I love KKR so much, but ever since the IPL started, I supported them,Jahanara told Anandabazar.

Then, the pacer expressed her desire to play at the iconic Eden Garden, in Kolk??ata. Alam has picked 88 wickets in 108 international matches. She? was also part of the IPL Women’s T20 Challenge last year.

“I haven’t had the privilege of playing at the Eden Garden?s. Hopefully, one day I can play there and at the Lord’s. Most legends of the game have playe??d at the venues and even I want to play there, she added.

During the interview, the gorgeous?? cricketer also claimed about receiving movie offers. However, Alam ended up declining the ?offers for her love for cricket.

“I a?lso had acting offers for two movies, but I declined them. I don’t wish to focus on anything else otherwise, I might get diverted and that is something I can’t let happen,Alam concluded.

Bangladesh fast bowler, Jahahnara Alam, who recently featured in the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia, did her bit to serve the needy in Bangladesh.

All by herself, Alam has been looking after 50 families in the capital, Dhaka. The sensational fast bowler turned out to be a role model to many, off the field, with her gesture of going d??oor-to-door for deliveries.

Apart from that??, 27 players contracted with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have decided to donate half ??of their monthly salaries to help the fight against Coronavirus.

“This is not a post to show people. I stand by them as much as I can. I urge you to stand beside the helpless. Raise your hand to as many as you can with 5, 5 or more in your capacity. We can stand beside helpless people at this critical moment in our country,” Alam wrote in her Facebook post.

“I hope people get inspired by those who are coming forward. If someone can support even one person or one family, so be it. It’s because in a large part of our society, people fight for food. Even if they have lunch, there’s uncertainty over dinner. So, in this state, they can’t afford to stay in-home quarantine,” added the 27-year-old from Khulna.

“First, they need their daily food. So, it’s necessary to help them, delivering the goods to the doorsteps. It’s only then that they’ll stay out of danger at home,” Alam concluded.

During the game against Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup, Alam displayed what she is capable of. Her 4/22 broke the back of Pakistani batting lineup.

However, Alam did not have any wickets to show for since the Pakistan game. Bangladesh failed to qualify for the semi-finals, as India and Australia progressed from Group A.

betvisa888 betJahanara Alam – Cricket Times - betvisa casino //betvisa68.com/2020/02/bcci-announces-four-team-womens-t20-challenge-during-ipl-playoffs/ Sat, 29 Feb 2020 16:14:18 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=38214

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Saturday that the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020 will be hosted at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The seven scheduled matches will be played during the Indian Premier League (IPL) Playoff week.

Earlier, three teams participated during the 2019 edition of the women’s T20 tournament namely IPL Trailblazers, IPL Velocity and IPL Supernovas. However, in this edition of the tournament, four teams will feature instead of three teams from last year’s competition.

The three teams from last year were captained by Indian Women’s team stars Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj.

“As part of its ongoing commitment to grow the women’s game, BCCI are pleased to announce the 2020 Women’s T20 Challenge. The tournament which started in 2018 and was a huge success, further garnered all the right eyeballs in the year to follow,” the BCCI announced in its press release.

IPL Supernovas, captained by India’s current T20 skipper, Kaur, won the championship last year, on a final ball-thriller.

“The 2019 games, comprising three teams were played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur during the IPL Playoff and Finals week. The tournament was played with great intensity which saw the winner of 2019 WT20 Challenge being decided over the last ball of the match,â€?the release stated further.

International stars such as Ellyse Perry, Chamari Atapattu, Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates, Jahanara Alam, Danielle Wyatt, Sophie Ecclestone, Amelia Kerr and Stafanie Taylor participated in the grand women’s tournament last year.

“2020 aims to be no different and this edition will see a 4th team added to the tournament. The WT20 Challenge this year will feature some of the world’s best women cricketers and will have 7 matches played during the IPL Playoff week at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Like the previous editions, this year’s Women’s T20 Challenge too promises to be an exciting prospect,” concluded the Indian board in its release.
