Bangladesh emerged victorious against India in the thrilling first ODI of three-match series by 40 runs. The win for the Bangladesh side came at the iconic Shere Bangla National Stadium and also marked their first-ever victory over the Indian team in the WODI.

Winning the toss, India elected to bowl first and bundled out Bangladesh’s batting lineup to a total of 152 runs in a rain-reduced game. The Bangladesh innings got off to a slow start, with opener Murshida Khatun contributing 13 runs off 30 deliveries, while her partner Sharmin Akhter was dismissed for a duck. Fargana Hoque steadied the innings with a patient knock of 27 runs off 45 balls, including five boundaries. Meanwhile, Nigar Sultana played a crucial innings, scoring 39 runs off 64 deliveries and anchoring the middle order. Although the rest of the batters also chipped in with valuable contributions, none could convert them into big scores.

The Indian bowlers put up a disciplined performance, led by Amanjot Kaur, who claimed four wickets for 31 runs in her nine overs. Deepti Sharma and Devika Vaidya also picked up crucial wickets.

In reply, the Indian team got off to a shaky start and suffered a few early setbacks. Priya Punia and Smriti Mandhana scored 10 and 11 runs but failed to make a significant impact. Yastika Bhatia top-scored with 15 runs, while Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 10 runs.

The Bangladesh Women’s bowlers put up an exceptional display, led by Marufa Akter, who picked up four wickets for 29 runs in her seven overs. Rabeya Khan was also impressive and bagged three scalps for 30 runs.

The Women in Blue struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 113 runs in 35.5 overs, falling short of the target by 40 runs. Marufa’s excellent bowling performance earned her the Player of the Match award for her crucial four-wicket haul, which played a significant role in Bangladesh’s victory.

With this win, Bangladesh Women have taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The next match between the two sides is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 19, once again at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Bangladesh are all set to host India in the first T20I of the three-match series at the iconic Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday (July 9). Led by the talented Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian side enters the series after a long gap from international cricket.

It is worth mentioning that India’s last T20I game was in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup held in South Africa, which they unfortunately lost to eventual champions Australia.

The Bangladesh tour will surely pose a challenge for the Women in Blue as they take the field without the services of pacer Renuka Singh Thakur and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh. However, Yastika Bhatia and the uncapped Uma Chetry are the two wicketkeeping options available for the Indian team in the absence of Richa on the tour.

On the other hand, the Bangladesh team is eager to bounce back from their recent 1-2 series loss against Sri Lanka. With their home-ground advantage, the Bangladeshi side will aim to utilize their strengths and challenge the Indian team with their skilful gameplay.

Pitch Report:

The pitch at the Shere Bangla National Stadium generally tends to favour bowlers. The average first innings score at the venue is 107. However, batters can also dominate if they spend some time in the middle. The highest recorded total at this ground was 140 runs, set by Australia Women in 2014.

Dream11 Prediction:

  • Wicketkeepers: Nigar Sultana, Yastika Bhatia
  • Batters: Ibrahim Zadran, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma (vc), Sobhana Mostary
  • All-rounders: Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Deepti Sharma, Sultana Khatun
  • Bowlers: Meghna Singh, Nahida Akter

Probable XI

India: Yastika Bhatia (wk), Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, S Meghana, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, Anjali Sarwani, Meghna Singh

Match Prediction:

Case 1:

  • BAN wins the toss and bowls first
  • Powerplay score: 40-45
  • IND total: 130-135

betvisa888 cricket betIndia tour of Bangladesh 2023 – Cricket Times - betvisa casino http://betvisa68.com/2023/07/bangladesh-announces-a-strong-16-member-t20i-squad-for-the-series-against-india-jahanara-alam-dropped/ Thu, 06 Jul 2023 06:15:03 +0000 http://betvisa68.com/2023/07/bangladesh-announces-a-strong-16-member-t20i-squad-for-the-series-against-india-jahanara-alam-dropped/

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled a strong 16-player squad for the upcoming T20I series against India, set to kick off on July 9. However, Bangladesh’s experienced campaigner and veteran fast bowler Jahanara Alam didn’t find a place in the squad announced by the board and has been left out of the team.

It is worth mentioning that Jahanara is the fourth-highest wicket-taker for the Tigresses in T20Is and had previously been excluded from the WODI squad for the series against India as well. Her omission came after she recently represented Bangladesh in three matches on a Sri Lanka tour.

Another notable absence from the T20I squad is Fargana Hoque, who features in the ODI squad but has been named among the standbys for the T20Is. Alongside Pinky, Lata Mondal, Sharmin Akter Supta and Fariha Trisna are also standby players.

Speaking of new additions, the selectors have decided to recall veteran spinner and former captain Salma Khatun into the T20I set-up. Khatun’s return adds experience and depth to the Bangladesh squad, enhancing their chances of putting up a strong performance against the Indian team. Dilara Akter and Marufa Akter, who impressed in the U19 T20 World Cup earlier this year, have also earned a well-deserved comeback to the national squad.

The highly anticipated India tour to Bangladesh will commence with three T20Is on July 9, 11, and 13, all taking place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Following the T20I series, the teams will transition to the ODI format, with matches scheduled from July 16 to July 22. Bangladesh will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Nigar Sultana Joty in both the T20I and ODI series.

Bangladesh T20I squad for the series against India:

Nigar Sultana Joty (c/wk), Nahida Akter (vc), Dilara Akter, Shathi Rani, Shamima Sultana, Sobhana Mostary, Murshida Khatun, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Disha Biswas, Marufa Akter, Shanjida Akther Meghla, Rabeya Khan, Sultana Khatun, Salma Khatun and Fahima Khatun.

Standbys: Fargana Hoque, Lata Mondol, Sharmin Akter Supta, Fariha Islam Trisna

The squad of the Indian women’s cricket team for the upcoming limited-overs tour of Bangladesh has been officially announced. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the Women in Blue, while Smriti Mandhana has been assigned the post of Harmanpreet’s deputy for the series. However, certain big names didn’t find a place in the team and have been left out of the squad.

The Indian side will play three T20Is and as many ODIs against Bangladesh on the tour, and the series will commence from July 9 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Bangladesh had already announced their team for the home series against India. It is also worth mentioning that this will be India’s first international assignment since the T20 World Cup 2023.

Although some familiar faces are part of the squad, there have been a few surprising omissions that have raised eyebrows among fans and experts as well. For instance, India’s star fast bowler Renuka Singh and talented wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh were not picked by the selectors for the Bangladesh tour. On the other hand, off-spinner Shreyanka Patil, who impressed in Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 and recently made history by becoming the first Indian player to be picked in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) draft, has also been overlooked.

Assam’s wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry has got her maiden call-up to the national team. Meanwhile, all-rounder Sheh Rana has not been included in the T20I squad, but she has secured a spot in the ODI team.

India’s squads for the Bangladesh tour:

T20I squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Harleen Deol, Devika Vaidya, Uma Chetry (wk), Amanjot Kaur, S. Meghana, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Monica Patel, Rashi Kanojiya, Anusha Bareddy, Minnu Mani.

ODI squad: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Harleen Deol, Devika Vaidya, Uma Chetry (wk), Amanjot Kaur, Priya Punia, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Monica Patel, Rashi Kanojiya, Anusha Bareddy, Sneh Rana.
