The much anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is just around the corner, and the excitement among cricke??t enthusiasts is at an all-time high. According to reports, the HCA ?has formally communicated its reservations to the BCCI, citing security concerns related to hosting consecutive matches.

“I can’t say it would be changed for sure but back to back games are not ideal. I mean if they (BCCI) are reconsidering that will be well in good. We will have to work with security agencies,â€?/em> An anonymous HCA official was quoted saying by The Economic Times.

“Anyone would want a day in between two World Cup games. We are still engaging with security agencies to see if it is possible or not. At the same time we are also keeping BCCI in the loop. The BCCI is completely aware of what we are trying to do,” he added.

Hyderabad’s important role in the upcoming World Cup event:

It is to be noted that the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad is set to host three matches during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, two of which are slated for consecutive dates. The first of these fixtures is a clash between New Zealand and the Netherlands on October 9, followed by a match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on the subsequent day.

With these highly antici?pated consecutive clashes on the card and new concerns regarding adequate security, the chances of yet another adjustment in the World Cup schedule have increased. Nevertheless, BCCI is still to make its decision public and is actively engaged in examining the matter.

Speaking of the ICC Cricket World C?up 2023, the marque even??t will commence from October 5 in India. The tournament will see ten teams locking horns with each other for the coveted trophy.

Ambati Rayudu has sparked controversy once again as he has alleged Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) for pampering in corruption. The former Hyderabad ski??pper has tagged Telangana minister K.T. Rama Rao in his tweet to delve-into the matter.

The CSK opener tweeted just a day after he announced his w?ithdrawal from the Hyderabad Ranji team. Rayudu showcased his annoyance at the corruptio?n and politics taking place in HCA.

Rayudu, who lead Hyderabad in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, told Telangana Today in an interview that he has shar?ed his grievances with the new HCA President Mohammad Azharuddin.

However, Rayudu feels that “election promises” got in the way of the former Indian captain from responding to his concerns. This affected team selections and ultimately hindered the team’s performance.

“I did talk with the president. He always said he was trying his best. But it never happened,” said Rayudu.

“I feel he should have introduced stronger measures, but he did not do that. I feel there were more election promises, and as a result, the game suffered,” he added.

Rayudu also said, “It hurt me a lot as few players, who did not even deserve to be in the squad, were included in the team just because of the election promises. , how can a team improve, If this happens.”

“If you pay attention to the squad, some of the players are selected because of the influence of some club secretaries. Sometimes, merit takes a back seat. This is unfortunate. Rich, influential, and politicians’ children get preferences in Hyderabad teams. This is a fact. We have to stop this buck. Since someone had to speak out, I thought I should do this. This is how bad the system has become in HCA.”

On November 24, the right-hander dropped a tweet in which he tagged Azhar and asked him not to take the issue personally. He said that the problem is more significa??nt than him ?and HCA.
