Building on the momentum, Thakur claimed his second consecutive wicket by removing Sumit Kumar for a golden duck, once again caught by Mulani. He completed his hat-trick in emphatic fashion by knocking over Jaskirat Singh’s st?umps, ensuring a third straigh?t batter departed without scoring.

Taking a hat-trick in Test cricket is one of the most challenging feats, showcasing a bowler’s ability to dismiss top-quality batters in quick succession. Pakistan, renowned for its history of producing exceptional bowlers, has witnessed several iconic moments of brilliance in Test cricket. Here’s a look at the five Pakistani players who achieved this rare milestone, with Noman Ali being the most recent to join this elite list.

5 Pakistani bowlers to take a hat-trick in the longest format

Wasim Akram ?The sultan of swing’s double delight

Akram, widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history, is the only Pakistani cricketer to take two hat-tricks in Test cricket. His first hat-trick came in 1999 against Sri Lanka at the P Saravanamuttu Stadium in Lahore. Akram dismissed Romesh Kaluwitharana, Niroshan Bandaratilleke, and Pramodya Wickramasinghe?? in successive deliveries, demonstrati??????????????????????????ng his mastery of reverse swing.

Few days later, Akram repeated the feat against the Islanders in Dhaka, dismissing Avishka Gunawardene, Chaminda Vaas and Mahela Jayawardene with his impeccable line, length, and movement. These performances showcased not only his ability to ex?ploit any condition but also his knack for delivering under pressure. Akram’s dual hat-tricks remain a testament to his unparalleled skill as a fast bowler.

Abdul Razzaq: Brilliance against the Lankans

Razzaq, best known for his all-round abilities, etched his name into cricketing history with a hat-trick against Sri Lanka in 2000 at the National Stadium, Karachi. Razzaq dismissed Kaluwitharana, Rangana Herath and Ravindra Pushpakumara in three consecutive deliveries. His ability to move the b??all both ways caught the batters off guard, turning the game in Pakistan’s favor.

While Razzaq was primarily celebrated for his powerful bat?ting, this bowling feat highlighted his versatility and ability to rise to the occasion when his team needed him most. It remains one of the standout moments of his cr??icketing career.

Mohammad Sami: Speed and swing in full flow

Another Pakistani bowler and the same opponent in the form of Sri Lanka. Sami, renowned for his raw pace and ability to reverse swing the ball, delivered one of his most memorable performances with a hat-trick against the Islanders in 2002 at Lahore. Sami dismissed Charitha Buddhika, Nuwan Zoysa, and Muttiah Muralitharan, showcasing his lethal combinati??on of speed and precision.

Although Sami’s career was marked by inconsistency, this moment underlined his potential and raw talent as a fast bowler. His hat-trick remains a shining example of? his ability to unsettle even the most e?xperienced batting line-ups.

Naseem Shah: A teenage sensation’s historic feat

The next on the esteem list is Naseem, who became one of the youngest players in cricket history to take a hat-trick in Test cricket in a match against Bangladesh in 2020 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Naseem dismissed Najmul Hossain Shanto, Taijul Islam, and Mahmudullah in consecutive deliveries, leaving the oppo??sition shell-shocked.

Naseem’s fiery pace and ability to generate movement off the pitch made him a force to be reckoned with, and his hat-trick established him as a rising star in P??akistan’s bowling arsenal. It also symbolized the bri?ght future of Pakistan’s pace-bowling legacy.

Noman Ali: First Pakistani spinner to achieve the feat

Noman made history on January 24, 2025, by becoming the first Pakistani spinner to take a hat-trick in Test cricket. Playing against the West Indies in Multan, Noman showcased his craft by dismissing three key batters in succession. His hat-trick not only demonstrated his control and guile but also underscored the increasing impact of spin in Pakistan’s cricketing narrative. During West Indies first innings, Noman dismissed Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair to accomplish a historic feat.

The turning track of the Multan Cricket Stadium has done the trick for Pakistan once again. The spin duo of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan has once again dominated the West Indies batting line-up with their lethal spin bowling.

The most important part of the Pakistani spin attack, Ali has clinched a historic milestone to his name on the first ??day of the Test match, marking an imp?ortant achievement in his individual career and for Test cricket in Pakistan.

Noman Ali’s spin master-class decimate West Indies

West Indies had a dreadful start to the second Test. Opener Mikyle Louis and debutant top-order batter Amir Jangoo were dismissed even before the visiting side could register 10 runs on the board. However, the real domination was yet to begin. The 38-year-old started the day by dismissing West Indies skipper Kraigg Braithwaite who was trying t?o offer some resistance in front of the spin onslaught from Pakistan.

Ali then went on to annihilate the remaining West Indies hope by sending Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach and Kevin Sinclair back to the pavilion consecutively. While Greaves and Sinclair gave their wickets away getting caught on the second-slip by Babar Azam, Imlac??h was dismissed while attempting to sweep the ball, completely missing the turning delivery in the pr??ocess which hit his pads instead.

With these wickets, Ali has managed to achieve a remarkable milestone by becoming the Pakistani spinner to secure a hat-trick in Test cricket and 5th bowler of their country to secure the glorious feat overall. Before him, only Wasim Akram, Mohammad Sami, Abdul Razzaq and Naseem Shah have managed to secure a hat-trick in Test crick??et.

Pitch remain the centre of discussion

The pitch at the Multan Cricket Stadium has witnessed unconventional turn and a conducive environment for spin bowling. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the team management were subjected to severe cri??ticisms from the cricketing community considering the kind of turning track made for the Test series against West Indies.

Amidst growing objections from the cricketing world over deliberately making a turning track to win the Test series, Pakistan head coach Aaqib Javed entered the discussions and defended the host nations?decision of making turning pitches asserting that Pakistan would have reached the finals of World Test Championship (WTC) had this decision were taken earlier.

“The rule of test cricket is to win at home. If you win at home and you win 2-3 tests away, you become a strong candidate for the final. We played in South Africa and didn’t field a spinner there due to the conditions. Similarly, pitches in Australia and England favor pace bowlers. Every country prepares pitches according to their advantage to win matches. I don’t understand the problem with spin-friendly wickets. If pace bowlers take wickets, people say cricket is progressing, but if spinners take wickets, they say cricket is going backward. I don’t understand this,?/em> Javed said during a pre-match press conference.

Pakistan are currently leading the two-match Test series??. Their previous face-off against the West Indies ended in favour of the home side as they won the match by 127 runs.

England‘s fast bowler Gus Atkinson delivered a scintillating spell of bowling on Day 2 of the second Test against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve on Saturday. Atkinson’s remarkable feat not only tilted the match in England’s favor but also placed him among an elite group of bowlers as the 15th? England cricketer to take a hat-trick in Test cricket.

The moment of brilliance came during New Zealand’s first innings when Atkinson’s precision and skill dismantled the Kiwi middle and lower order in quick succession, sending shockwaves through the Basin Reserve crowd.

The Dramatic Over: Gus Atkinson’s triple strike

The hat-trick began in the 35th over, with Atkinson targeting Nathan Smith (14). A delivery wide of off-stump tempted Smith into a tentative poke; too late to withdraw his b?at, he managed only to deflect the ball onto his?? stumps.

Next to the crease was Matt Henry, known for his grit with the bat, averaging nearly 20 in Tests. However, Atkinson’s relentless accuracy proved too much for him. A sharp, chest-high delivery from just short of a length forced Henry into a defensive fumble, resulting in a catch to Ben Duckett at gully.

The stage was set for the hat-trick ball. Veteran Tim Southee, one of New Zealand’s most experienced campaigners, walked in with expectations riding high. Known for his ability to counterattack, Southee seemed prepared for a?nother short ball, given the field set around him. But Atkinson outfoxed him with a full, straight delivery that thudded onto the front pad, with no hesi??tation from umpire Rod Tucker in raising his finger.

A rare feat in Test cricket

Atkinson’s hat-trick is a rare milestone in Test cricket, marking the first instance since June 2021 when South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj achieved the feat against the West Indies. For England, this was the first Test hat-trick in seven years, with Moeen Ali last accomplishing it in July 2017 at The Oval, dismissing Dean Elgar, Kagiso Rabada, and Morne Morkel in a memorable spell.

This achiev?ement further highlights Atkinson’s growing statu?re as a bowler capable of producing match-defining moments. His hat-trick has energized England’s campaign in the series and cemented his position as a key player for the team moving forward.

England’s hat-trick heroes

Atkinson joins a prestigious list of England bowlers who have achieved hat-tricks in Test cricket, a tradition that spans decades. Before Moeen in 2017, the likes of James Anderson, Darren Gough, and Matthew Hoggard had performed similar feats, showcasing England’s legacy in pro??ducing world-class bowlers?.

In a rain-interrupted warm-up match for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Australia’s speedster Mitchell Starc showcased his brilliance by claiming a stunning hat-trick against the Netherlands. While the match was marred by intermittent showers, Starc’s fiery spell brought much excitement to the truncated contest.

Rain Alters Match Dynamics

Persistent afternoon rain in Thiruvananthapuram forced a reduction in the game’s duration, limiting it to just 23 overs per side. Unfortunately, the adverse weather conditions also led to the abandonment of the day’s other scheduled match between India and England without a single ball being bowled.

Starc’s Hat-Trick Heroics

Defending 166, Starc ripped through the Dutch top order, removing Max O’Dowd and Wesley Barresi on the last two deliveries of his first over. The left-arm pacer achieved his remarkable hat-trick at the beginning of his second over, dismissing an unsuspecting Bas de Leede. His lethal pace and pinpoint accuracy disrupted the Netherlands’ batting rhythm, and he continued to be a menacing presence throughout his spell.

Resilience from the Netherlands

Colin Ackermann provided some resistance for the Netherlands with an unbeaten 31, ?attempting to stabilize the i?nnings. However, rain once again intervened in the 15th over, with the Netherlands at 84 for six, denying a conclusive result.

Australia’s Batting Display

Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and elected to bat. The Australian openers faced an early setback as Josh Inglis departed in just the second over. However, a 57-run partnership between Steve Smith and Alex Carey steadied the innings. Carey contributed 28 runs before being bowled by Roelof van der Merwe.

Smith anchored the Australian innings with an impressive 55 off 42 balls. He received valuable support from all-rounder Cameron Green, who scored 34, and Starc, adding 24 runs to the total.

Wessly Madhevere etched his name in record books on Thursday by securing a hat-trick in the second ODI against the Netherlands. The remarkable feat helped Zimbabwe secure a crucial one-run victory at the Harare Sports Club.

Madhevere played a significant role in the victory by dismantling the Netherlands’ middle order, thus shifting the momentum in Zimbabwe’s favour. The visitors had been dominating the match with a score of 213/3 at one stage. However, Madhevere’s spin bowling in the 43rd over of the second innings changed the course of the game.

Madhevere’s hat-trick came at a crucial stage and proved to be a turning point in the match. He dismissed Colin Ackermann, Teja Nidamanuru and Paul van Meekeren off consecutive deliveries, becoming only the third player from Zimbabwe to achieve this feat. The other two players to have achieved an ODI hat-trick for Zimbabwe are Eddo Brandes and Prosper Utseya. Madhevere’s performance was instrumental in Zimbabwe’s victory, and he was named the ‘Player of the Match’ for his all-round performance.

Zimbabwe had been bowled ou??t for 271 in 49.2 overs, but drama unfolded ?in the second innings, as in the first ODI.

The backbone of Zimbabwe’s innings was a 104-run partnership between Sean Williams and Clive Madande. Shariz Ahmad starred for the Netherlands, taking 5/43, his first five-for in ODI cricket. At one stage, Netherlands looked to be cruising towards the target of 272, with Tom Cooper and Max O’Dowd going great guns. However, a run-out and a wicket from Sikandar Raza turned the match in Zimbabwe’s favour.

Here’s the video:

In the post-match interview, Madhevere talked about his mentality before entering the field. “All credit goes to the teammates, the coaches and especially the guys who have known me for a long time. Hopefully, it’s going to carry on for a long time. Honestly, I’m not sure where I would like to bat. My responsibility is to score runs for the team whether I’m batting 1 or 5. That’s my mentality. Feels good to be able to contribute to the team, to be able to win a game for Zimbabwe, so many people dream about that, hopefully, I can carry on. 100%, it is always nice to win games, hopefully, we will win the last one, but we are chuffed with this win,” he added.

The win has also kept Zimbabwe’s hopes alive in the three-match series, with the third and final ODI scheduled for Saturday at the same venue.

Legendary Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram picked up his second Test hat-trick on March 14, 1999. Akram, who had the mastery over swing and seam, and ability to move the ball both ways, achieved the feat in the Asian Test Championship Final against Sri Lanka in Dhaka.

During the second innings, Akram dismissed opener Avishka Gunawardene, night watchman Chaminda Vaas, and batter Mahela Jayawardene to complete his hat-trick.

Interestingly, Akram had also bagged a hat-trick in the same series on March 6 against the Lankans in Lahore.
Akram led his team to the Asian Test Championship title after Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by an inni?ngs and 175 runs.

The then Pakistan captain finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker (15). The Sultan of Swing is only the third player to pick 2 hat-tricks in Tests after Hugh Trumble and Jimmy Matthews.

betvisa casinoHat-trick – Cricket Times - betvisa login //betvisa68.com/2023/01/watch-hobart-hurricanes-nathan-ellis-picks-up-a-hat-trick-against-sydney-thunder-in-bbl12/ Sun, 15 Jan 2023 11:20:41 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=68378

In the 42nd match of the ongoing Big Bash League 2022-23 between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder, fast bowler Nathan Ellis bagged a hat-trick across two overs.

Ellis became the ninth bowler in the history of BBL and second in t??he current season to achie?ve the feat.

Notably, just a few days back, Brisbane Heats’ Michael Neser took a hat-trick against Melbourne Renegades in BBL 12.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Thunder failed to start their innings well and lost opening batter David Warner for a golden duck in the very first over.

Ellis, who came in to bowl the fourth over for Hurricanes, dismissed Mathew Glikes on the final ball of that ov?er and picked up his first wicket of the match. The wicket-keeper batter was found leg before wicket (lbw) by the umpire. However, Glikes challenged the decision but ended up losing the review.

Ellis, resuming his spell in the 15th over, on the very first delivery (14.1), took the wicket of dangerous-looking Oliver Davies 45 (38) as Faheem Ashraf caught the batter in the cover region. The 28-year-old on the next ball (14.2) cleaned up Nathan McAndrew for a duck and etched his name into the record books with his maiden hat-trick. He is the second Hurricanes’ bowler after left-arm spinner Xavier Doherty to register a hat-trick in the BBL. Doher?ty did the same back in 2012-13.

Ellis seemed t??o be unaware of his hat-trick ?as his celebration after dismissing McAndrew was a normal one.

Here’s the video:

Ellis further took the wicket of Ben Cutting and finished with impressive figures of ?4-0-27-4.

Talking about the match, Thunders put up a total of 135 for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Hurricanes at one point seemed to be struggling with 20/3 but ultimately chased the set target in 16.1 overs. Tim David 76 (41) played a match-winning ??knock for his team.

List of hat-tricks in the BBL:

  • Xavier Doherty, Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Thunder, 2012-13
  • Andrew Tye, Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat, 2016-17
  • Andrew Tye, Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers, 2017-18
  • Josh Lalor, Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers, 2018-19
