A century stand betw??een skipper AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli took Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to their sixth successive win against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla as the visitors registered a crucial five-wicket win on Saturday night.

Chasing 182, after Kohli fe??ll for a 40-ball 70, de Villiers held his own, remaining unbeaten o?n 72 to take the side over the line with an over to spare to keep RCB alive in the tournament, and officially knocking DD out of IPL 2018.

This is the sixth succe?ssive time that the Delhi franchise has failed to progress beyond th?e league stage.

Royal Challenger Banglore’s star batsman AB De Villiers hit top gear, obliging the crowd that kept chanting his name, as his unbeaten 90 off 39 balls negated Delhi Daredevils’ gains made at the midpoint and sealed a six-wicket win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

Daredevils got to 174/5 and then plucked two early wickets, which included Quinton de Kock, before Virat Kohl??i’s side fought back.

RCB eventually coasted to 176/4 in 18 overs to clinch their second victory of IPL 2018. Daredevils saw the game slip away due to De Villiers�?free-scoring, the South African hitting the winning four to remain 90 not out (39 b, 10×4, 5×6).

Speaking to batting coach Gary Kirsten after the game, ABD said: “I didn’t decide to be aggressive (from ball 1) to be honest. I did want to put the spinner under some pressure with the new ball as there was some turn with the new ball. I didn’t want to get out to the slip in a soft way, so I thought of trying and transferring some pressure on the spinner. And from there on it just kept going. I kept feeling good at the wicket and kept seeing the ball well. Never decided to be aggressive, just little moments in the game I felt I needed to capitalize on.”

Delhi Daredevils�?fast bowler Trent Boult gave his side a moment of great joy on an otherwise tough night when he took an absolut??e blinder to dismiss the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli for 30.

Fielding deep at the square leg boundary, Boult caught Kohli’s perfectly timed shot with one hand as he dove backward and stopped just inches before the boundary line. So good was the catch, that even Kohli, who was confident that he had just clobbered another maximum, could not believe what he had seen before walking off shell-shocked.

Explosive batsman AB de Villiers enthralled the crowd with a whirl?wind unbeaten 39-ball 90 as Royal Challengers Bangalore notched up a convincing six-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils in their IPL fixture at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Saturday.

It rained fours and sixes as ABD produced a vintage innings and singled-handedly chased down the 175-run target with two overs to spare to bring RCB’s campaign back on track.

During his scintillating 90 run knock, Mr. 360 also smashed the longest six of the tournament. The monstrous hit by De Villiers landed on the roof the stadium. It was a 106 metres six which came off Rahul Tewatia’s bowling.

IPL 2017: In the last league match between Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, RCB opener Chris Gayle and Daredevils leg-spinner Amit Mishra shared a funny moment during the first innings.

On the last ball of the 8th over, Mishra beat Gayle outside the off stump. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant and Mishra app??ealed in unison for a caught behind. realising that there was no edge, Pant stopped appealing but Mishra contin??ued pleading from the umpire for a wicket.

After the over, Gayle came from behind and put his arms around Mishra’s shoulder and the duo shared a laugh.
