It has been an ongoing issue for Team India to find a suitable batsman for the number 4 position. It also caused India’s exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 due to top-order collapse against New Ze?aland in ??the semi-finals.

Former Indian cricketer turned analyst Aakash Chopra feels that India’s No. 4 problem has been “a case of musical chairs.” Indian team management tested 13-14 players to bat at number 4, including Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik, Vijay Shankar, Manish Pandey, Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Kedar Jadhav, and Rishabh Pant.

Aakash was speaking on Cricbuzz LIVE along with Harsha Bhogle and former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan. He said, “Correct, it’s been a case of musical chairs for us so far because I think since Yuvraj Singh exit, we had about 13 or 14 people who batted at No. 4.

That’s being the problem and its the problem of your own making, it’s not that suddenly you had no players,” Aakash added.

Shreyas Iyer played against Sri Lanka, and I remember him doing well. He went to South Africa, didn’t play a game. It was Ajinkya Rahane who batted at no. 4 and who actually did all right and got dropped, and didn’t go to England. And, it just went all from there.

Manish Pandey, he is even more curious case because that century came I think in Sydney that was 2016. So 2016, he scored a century, and in three and half years he had played only 18 games and not all the games at no. 4“, told Aakash.

Aakash agreed with Zaheer that Indian team ma??nagement should try a player at No. 4 for at least 30 innings before they decide on replacing him.

Just think about it, Yuvraj Singh scored that fantastic 80 against Australia in 2000 Champions Trophy and all that, and after that for 20 odd innings, he didn’t really set the world on fire. The same thing could be said about Virendra Sehwag as well, and Viru was actually batting higher up the order. You got Yuvraj Singh who was supposed to play that pivotal role in winning games. Somebody has the patience to stick with these two guys because they invested, they thought that these are match-winners and they were right. So Saurav Ganguly and the team management thought that these two guys would deliver eventually. So 30 innings, it may sound a lot at the moment, but you have got four years to build towards something“, he concluded.

England’s speedster James Anderson recently revealed that Ben Stokes had requested the umpire to take off 4 overthrows from their score. The English team was awarded 6 runs at the crucial stage of the game when Guptill’s throw hit Stokes’ bat and went to the boundary.

Australian umpire Simon Taufel considers this an umpiring error and claims that England should have been awarded ?5 runs instead of 6.

Anderson featured in a BBC’s Tailenders podcast after England first World Cup win.

The etiquette in cricket is if the ball is thrown at the stumps and it hits you and goes into a gap in the field you don’t run. But if it goes to the boundary, in the rules it’s four and you can’t do anything about it.“, said Anderson.

I think, talking to Michael Vaughan who saw him after the game, Ben Stokes actually went to the umpires and said, ‘Can you take that four runs off. We don’t want it‘”, Anderson added.

But it’s in the rules and that’s the way it is“, told the pacer.

There are reports that Ben Stokes is likel?y to be knighted for his heroics in the World Cup final.

It was a disappointing end to the CWC 2019 for New Zealand’s cricket fans. Kane Williamson led Kiwis were so close yet so far from their first World Cup title.

On Monday, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern expressed her views regarding their loss in the final match. For Ms. Ardern, it was the most exciting cricket match she ever watched.

Ms. Ardern said, “I think probably like a lot of New Zealanders I’m still feeling quite traumatized by that match. It was an incredible game, I can’t recall seeing a game like it and I think it will just go down in history for just being a remarkable game of cricket.

But regardless of that final outcome I just feel incredibly proud of the Black Caps and I hope every New Zealander does because they played remarkable cricket across the course of that tournament, and they certainly did in that last match.

Ms. Ardern wants Heroes’ welcome for New Zealand cricketers

We really would like to honor them, not only for their superb skills but also for their sportsmanship and the graciousness with which they accepted that loss.“, she added.

Ms. Ardern mentioned that she synced with?? Auckland Mayor Phil Goff on how to welcome the New Zealand c?ricketers back home.

Of course, they’ve been away for some time and just whether or not they’ll all be in one place when they arrive… there are a few conversations to be had but there have been some phone calls already.“, said Ms. Ardern.

After losing the championship to England in a close encounter at Lord’s on Sunday, Kiwi all??-r?ounder James Neesham took to Twitter to express his grief. In a series of tweets, he exhibited his feelings towards the final moment of the game.

Barring the loss, Jimmy had a fantastic day on the field, both with the bat and the ball. He scored 19 runs off 25 balls in New Zealand’s inning, while picked up 3 wickets in his 7 overs in the second half of the match.

For the Super Over, Jimmy was sent to open the innings for New Zealand and he almost took the team to the finishing line, scoring 13 runs off 5 balls. The Super Over ended in a tie with England winning the match due to more ??number? of boundaries.

In his first tweet, Jimmy congratulated England team saying, “That hurts. Hopefully there’s a day or two over the next decade where I don’t think about that last half hour. Congratulations @ECB_cricket , well deserved.

In his other tweet, Jimmy looked really heart-broken as he suggested kids not to take up sports, instead take on ‘baking or something‘.

Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.

A lot of cricketers and fans responded to Jimmy’s tweet, mentioning that they are proud of him and whole New Zealand team.
