Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi failed to control his temper during the second T20I against Bangladesh at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Saturday.

The incident took place during the third over of Bangladesh’s innings. On the delivery after Afif Hossain hit him for a maximum, Afridi lost his cool. The left-armer picked up the ball in his ??follow-thr??ough and hurled it at the stumps while the batter was well inside his crease.

As a result, Hossain cop?ped a blow on his leg??, and the doctor was rushed on the field to check the youngster.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shared a video on Twitt??er, where Shaheen can be seen ??apologising to Hossain after the conclusion of the game.

However, match referee Neeyamur Rashid has imposed a fine (15% of match fees) on Afridi for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The Pakistani seamer was found to have breached Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment such as a water bottle) at or near a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other third person in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match.”

Also, one demerit point has been added to the disciplinary reco?rd of Afridi, for whom it was?? his first offence in the 24-month period.

In the second T20I, Pakistan registered a comprehensive 8-wicket win over the hosts and took an unassa??ilable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The third and final T20I will take place at the same venue on Monday, November 22.

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi invited some negative limelight to his name ?during?? the second T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday.

After being hit for a six, Afridi intentionally threw the ball back at Bangladesh batter Afif Hossain.

The incident took place after the second delivery of the third over, which was hit for a maximum by Hossain. On the following delivery, when the young Bangladeshi defended the ball back to the bowler, Afridi – who was perhaps still smarting the six he got smacked on the previous ball – turned around and threw the ball at the batter, hitting Hossain on the ankle.

To his credit, Afridi immediately apologised for his mistake. Pakistan captain Babar Azam also rushed in to check on ?Hossain after the latter fell to the ground because of the impact of the powerful throw.

After receiving treatment from his team’s physio, Hossain was declared fit to continue batting. The 22-year-old scored 20 runs off 21 balls before being dismissed by leg-spinner Shadab Khan.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member squad for the T20I series ag??ainst Zimbabwe on Thursday. Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has returned to the national side along with mediu??m-pacer Mohammad Saifuddin.

Bangladesh’s previous T20I series was held against Pakistan in their den, where Rahim opted out of traveling due to security reasons.

Right-arm fast bowler Nazmul Hossain has been dropped after he suffered an injury during the last encounter with Zimbabwe. Rubel Hossain, on the other hand, hasn’t been picked due to his lack of form.

“I have already informed BCB that I am not going to Pakistan for the upcoming series. I have submitted an official letter, and BCB accepted that. Not just T20Is, I am unavailable for the entire series,” Mushfiqur told the media as quoted by Times Now.

“My family is afraid of the security condition of Pakistan. In this situation, I can’t go to Pakistan and play cricket there. It is always tough for me to sit down from a series of Bangladesh national team,” Mushfiqur added.

Rubel Hossain, the right-arm fast bowler, also made a comeback in the squad. He bagged 20 wickets from 13 games in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), whereas a 20-year-old pacer, Hasan Mahmud, has earned?? his maiden international call-up.

The first T20I will take place on Friday (Jan 24) at Gaddafi S??tadium in Lah??ore.

Earlier, Pakistan announced their T20I squad for the series recalling Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez.
