Emirates falls short of the target 

Even though Russell could not score big runs for his franchise in the International League T20 (ILT20), the Knight Riders did manage to put together a competitive total of 182/7 in their 20 overs. An emphatic display of power-hitting from Jason Holder in which he scored 22 off 7 balls and a 55-run knock from Alishan Sharafu enabled the home side to reach this total.

Before dismissing Sharafu, Shepherd had already accounted for another key wicket in the same over. On the 3rd ball of the 6th over, he dismissed Michael Pepper who had looked dangerous in the early stages of his innings. Shepherd delivered a full ball angling into the stumps, and Pepper attempted to force it down the ground but could only manage a thick outside edge, which was safely caught by Nicholas Pooran behind the stumps.
