For Delhi Capitals (DC), the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has been a story of dominance in the league stage but heartbreak in the final. With back-to-back final heartbreaks fueling their hunger, Delhi will be keen to make WPL 2025 the year they finally lift the trophy.

Under Meg Lanning’s leadership, the team has already showcased their ability to dominate the league stage, but the real challenge lies in delivering under pressure when it matters the most. In WPL 2023, they fell short against Mumbai Indians (MI), and in 2024, they were outplayed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Despite these setbacks, captain? Lanning remains optimistic that a few ??minor adjustments can help them finally clinch the elusive title in 2025.

Meg Lanning’s plan for success in WPL 2025

Reflecting on DC’s performances, Lanning acknowledged that while they have played excellent cricket, the key to success lies in fine-tuning their approach rather than overhauling strategies. She further emphasized small tactical changes rather than drastic shifts in approach

“We’ve had two good seasons without obviously being able to finish it off the way we would have liked in winning the title. The key for us is maintaining what we’ve been doing well. We think we have been playing some really good cricket and doing a lot of things right. “We’re just evolving and making a few little changes here and there that we think will make a big difference, and hopefully allow us to take that next step. It’s not [a] big shift from us,” Lanning was quoted as saying by the ESPNcricinfo.

Strengthening the squad for 2025

Delhi will launch their campaign against defending champions Mumbai on?? February 15 in Vadodara. With new additions to the squad and existing players improving, Lanning believed Delhi is in a strong position heading into WPL 2025.

“We’ve added some new players, and also the players who have been here previously have also improved and gotten better as well. We feel like we’re in a really good spot. It’s not about changing too much. We’ve been doing a lot right. It’s just some small things here and there to take us to the next step,” Lanning concluded.

Delhi’s core squad remains strong, with key players Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Alice Capsey, Marizanne Kapp, and Jess Jonassen continuing to be pivotal in their WPL campaigns. However, DC has also l?ooked to strengthen its bench strength an??d add depth to ensure they have all bases covered for the next edition.

betvisa888 casinoDelhi Capitals – Cricket Times - betvisa888 bet //betvisa68.com/2025/02/wpl-2025-delhi-capitals-best-playing-xi-for-the-womens-premier-league/ Wed, 12 Feb 2025 02:45:03 +0000 //betvisa68.com/2025/02/wpl-2025-delhi-capitals-best-playing-xi-for-the-womens-premier-league/

Since the Women’s Premier League (WPL) began two years ago, Delhi Capitals (DC) have consistently been a dominant force, topping the league table in both 2023?? and 20??24. However, despite their regular-season success, they have faltered at the final hurdle, finishing as runners-up on both occasions. As they gear up for WPL 2025, the Capitals will be determined to break their title drought and finally lift the coveted trophy.

The Capitals will launch their campaign against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on February 15 in Vadodara. After enduring heartbreaks in consecutive finals, the team will be eager to set the record straight and assert their dominance when it matters most. With the tournament kicking off on February 14, five teams will battle for supremacy, but Delhi ??will have their sights set solely on the championship.

A strong squad under Meg Lanning ready for redemption

The squad remains a formidable unit, with Australian legend Meg Lanning set to lead the side once again. In the WPL 2025 auction, Delhi made a statement by securing all-rounder N Chirani for INR 55 lakh, making her the team’s most expensive buy and the fifth-highest bid of the se?ason. The Capitals also added fo?ur new players in the auction, aiming to build a perfectly balanced squad that fosters confidence and depth.

Lanning’s leadership has been instrumental in Delhi Capitalsconsistency, guiding them to the top of the points table in both? previous seasons with six wins in eight matches. However, the team has struggled to replicate that dominance in the finals. As they enter their third campaign, Delhi will be focused on shedding their “runner-uptag and proving that they are more than just a league-stage powerhouse.
