The 17th match of The Hundred Men’s Competition 2023 saw history being created as Southern Brave‘s left-arm quick, Tymal Mills, etched his name into the history books by taking a sensational hat-trick against Welsh Fire on Saturday. The iconic feat by Mills was achieved at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff and marked only the second instance of a bowler registering a hat-trick in the history of The Men’s Hundred.

It is worth mentioning that the ongoing season of The Hundred has been nothing short of extraordinary, with hat-tricks becoming a thrilling trend. South Africa’s veteran bowler Sh?abnim Ismail had also achieved the feat a few days back when she snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for Welsh Fire Women against Birmingham Phoenix Women in The Hundred Women’s Competition 2023.

Mill’s hat-trick spell:

Mills’ hat-trick also came in a similar fashion to Ismail’s as he too achieved the feat on the last three balls of the innings. The first victim in Mills’ mesmerizing spell was Ben Green, who fell prey to a cunning slower delivery. Green’s attempt to launch the ball ended in an unfortunate straight hit to Rehan Ahmed, stationed at backward point. Meanwhile, the next batter to face Mills’ wrath was Haris Rauf, who was deceived by an outside off delivery and handed Leus du Plooy a simple catch in pursuit of hit?ting the ball over extra cover.

Bowling the final ball of the inning to David Payne, Mills deployed another impeccably disguised outside off a slower ball. The fullish length tempted Payne to attempt a daring reverse lap over the short third fielder. However, his attempt only resulted in an underwhelming lob straight into the hands of Finn Allen, clinching the hat-trick for Mills.

Speaking of the match, Mill’s hat-trick marked the end of Welsh Fire’s innings on 87 runs. The Southern Brave wasted no time in achieving the modest target with a staggering nine wickets and 41 balls to sp??are.

England’s left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills, who is a key member of Perth Scorchers squad in the Big Bash League (BBL), will not play in BBL|12. He has opted out of Australia’s premier T20 league citing personal reasons.

The 30-year-old Mills was recruited by Scorchers in the inaugural BBL|12 Draft after playing a cru??cial r??ole during their title-winning campaign last summer.

Mills has informed the Perth franchise about his? family emergency and they are now looking for a replacement player.

“The club fully supports Mills’ decision and sends its thoughts and best wishes to his family during this time. Perth is exploring its options to recruit an international replacement player,” Perth Scorchers said in a statement.

The defending champions are ?set to open their BBL|12 campaign on?? Saturday (December 17) against Sydney Sixers.

Mills made his T20 International (T20I) debut against Sri Lanka, finishing with 0-22 as England won the match by eight wickets. He tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend India-Kate McLaven on October 5, 2019.

Mills and Kate have two kids – Delphi Laine Mills (daughter) and Caelan Cole Mills (son). The couple keeps on?? posting pictures and videos of their little babies on social media.

Already struggling Mumbai Indians (MI) faced a major setback to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign as their overseas pace bowler Tymal Mills has been ruled out of the rest of the current season du??e to? an ankle injury.

Mills played five matches for Mumbai this year, picking up six wickets at an economy of 11.17. He last played on April 16 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), where he conceded 54 runs from three overs. Overall, the left-armer has featured in 11 IPL matches, taking 11 scalps with? 3/35 being his be?st.

The Rohit Sharma-led MI have signed South African Tristan Stubbs as a replacement for ??Mills. The 21-year-old middle-order batter recently debuted for the national South African A Squad against Zimbabwe. He will join MI for a price of INR 20 l?akh (approx USD 26,000).

Tristan impressed one and all in t?he domestic season, scoring 293 runs at a brilliant average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 18??3.12 for Warriors in the CSA Challenge T20 competition.

“Mumbai Indians have signed South African Tristan Stubbs as a replacement for Tymal Mills, who has sustained an injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the Tata IPL,” read a statement released by MI.

“The 21-year-old, talented middle-order batter, recently debuted for the national South African A Squad against Zimbabwe. Tristan has had a very promising domestic season and played an important role for his team in the recently concluded T20 domestic league. Tristan will join the MI squad for the rest of the season,” the statement added.
