On Monday, the Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny announced his retirement from first-class ??and international cricket.

Binny represented India in 6 Tests, 14 ODIs and 3 T20Is. He last wore the prestigious Indian jersey in 2016 during a T20I match against West Indies in Lauderhill.

The son of former World Cup winner Roger Binny, Stuart played 100 List A games and 150 T20s, including 95 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) representing Rajasthan Royals (RR), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He has featured in the now-defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Binny appeared ?in 95 first-class matches, where he managed to score 4796 runs at an average of 34.25 and picked up 148 wickets. The 37-year-old was an integral member of the Karnataka si?de during their successive Ranji Trophy victories in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

Binny still owns the best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in ODIs. In 2014, the right-armer had taken six wickets for just 4 runs against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

While announcing his retirement, Binny issued a lengthy statement and thanked BCCI, Karnataka state, and his former captains for showing trust in him and offering valuable suppo??rt.

“It has given me tremendous joy and pride to have represented my country at the highest international level,” Binny said in a statement

“I would like to acknowledge the huge role the BCCI has played in my cricketing journey. Their support and faith over the years have been invaluable. My cricketing journey would not even have started had it not been for the Karnataka state and their support. It has been an honour to captain and win trophies with my state.

“I am grateful to the coaches who encouraged me, to the selectors who put their faith in me. To my captains who entrusted me. None of this would have been possible without my family; I stepped out on the field every day thinking of them.

“Cricket runs through my blood, and I will always look to give back to the game that has given me everything. I thank you all for your continued support in my next innings,” he added.

Mayanti Langer, one of India’s top sports anchors and wife of Indian cricketer Stuart Binny, on Monday, took to Twitter to ??take a sly di??g at online trolls after her husband achieved a new milestone in his cricketing career.

Stuart completed in his 100th List A game as he stepped into the Round 5 game against Arunachal Pradesh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ahead of the Plate group fixture, the 36-year-old took to Instagram and wrote: “That day has come where I walk out for my 100 List A game…blessed.”

Lauding Stuart for his achievement, Mayanti has posted a snap of her Instagram story on Twitter where she con??gratulated her husband on playing his 100th List-A game.

Slamming the trollers, Langer wrote: “To the haters, but mainly to the supporters.”

It is worth mentioning that Stuart has been subjected to some harsh criticism for his failures, where trollers have even dragged Mayanti’s name by passing offensive comments to get back at the Bengaluru-born cricketer.

In her Instagram story, Mayanti had written: “A 100 that has been 17 years in the making. HARDWORK and PERSEVERANCE are only words until you bring them to life. Some just TALK @stuartbinny84 WALKS THE TALK. Congrats on yet another achievement champ.”

The ??famous Lord’s Test match of India’s tour of England in 2014, marked the debut of Karnataka all-rounder Stuart Binny.

The match is renowned for Ishant Sharma’s heroics with the ball in the fourth innings, where he picked up a s??even-wicket haul to hand India victory in the second game of the series.

Also, the contest holds a special place in the career of Ajinkya Rahane, who clinched an impressive ton on an absolute green-top wicket. Rahane faced the likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad on Day One.

Now, six years later, Binny has revealed details of his conversation with former Indian captain MS Dh??oni, while India was under the pump during the game.

“A special day in my life to receive my Test cap #281 from Mahi bhai [Dhoni]. That Test match again didn’t go the way w?e wanted to. We were under the pump on the last day. I had scored 1 in the first innings, so obviously [I had] a slee?pless night before that second innings when I walked in to bat,?Binny told Sportskeeda.

“And Mahi bhai told me, ‘Listen, we need you to bat 4-5 hours to save the Test match? And I looked ?at him like I c??an’t believe he said something like that to me, because I wasn’t even thinking clearly at that time. I was nervous, I was playing my first Test match and hadn’t got runs,?the out of favour all-rounder added.

Binnys jitters on debut were so extreme that he took the middl??e-stump guard instead of the commonly preferred le??g-stump.

“I walked in, and I normally take a leg-stump guard, and I don’t know what I was thinking that I asked the umpire, ‘Can I have a middle stump, please??Then I heard myself and [realised] I don’t take that guard. I was that nervous, I didn’t know what I was doing. I? just walked around, and till I got the first 10 runs, my mind was so muddled, I wasn’t thinking clearly at all,?the former Rajasthan Royals (RR) cricketer continued.

“Then the innings slowly built and gave me some confidence. I had batted close to two hours and I was batting on 36, [when] I knew that I definitely belonged at that stage. It was 8-9 years of domestic cricket at that spot ?either saving matches or trying to put a game on. It’s experience, I think, that got me through that day. I would have loved to have a Test hundred on debut but it didn’t work out that day. I’ll take a 78 any day of my life,???Binny concluded.

In that match, India won the ??game by 95 runs ??but hosts England came back from behind to clinch the series by 3-1.

betvisa888 betStuart Binny – Cricket Times - betvisa888 //betvisa68.com/2020/07/still-get-goosebumps-watching-the-video-stuart-binny-reflects-on-his-6-4-spell-against-bangladesh/ Sat, 25 Jul 2020 07:46:53 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=44842

On 24th July 2014, Indian all-rounder?? Stuart Binny achieved the monumental feat of picking up six-wickets. He conceded only four runs in his spell during one of the games?? against Bangladesh.

Binny’s? figures remain the best by an Indian bowler when it comes to ODI cric?ket.

The second-string Indian team which toured Bangladesh were put under the pump by the hosts after being dismissed for ?a paltry 105??.

Chasing the small total, Bangladesh were on track to win th??e match by a handsome margin, with the score reading 44 for the loss of two wicket??s.

However, it all changed with the introduction of the Karnataka st??alwart, who ran through the Bangladeshi batting lineup, utilizing the juicy conditions on offer.

Now, six years hence, Binny has opened up about his dream spell of bowling which helped India clinch the series, under the leadership of Suresh Raina.

“I still get goosebumps when I watch that video to be honest. You can’t ask for better days than that. It was a game where we didn’t get too many runs on the board and we were under pressure from ball one. It was a wicket that wasn’t bad but we were on and off the field because of rain,” Binny told Sportskeeda.

I??n that match, the hosts were bundled out for just 58 runs, handing the visitors a 47-run win with the intervention of Duckworth Lewis (DLS) method.

“The covers came on and off and on and off. There was a little moisture in the surface and it suited my bowling. I could not have asked for a better wicket on that day to suit my bowling,” Binny concluded.

Since then, Binny’s days at the international level were only numbered. He had been an integral part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) for several years. But, in the last IPL auction, Binny went unsold.

Prominent cricket presenter Mayanti Langer, who is now the face of Star Sports, recently got nostalgic about her struggling days during one of the interactions with? a magazine.

Langer came into reckoning during the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) in 2007, before the inception of the cash-??rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

While presenting the cricket league, Langer met Karnataka all-rounder Stuart Binny, who also featured in the Kapil Dev’s brainchild.

Just when ICL started to gain prominence, the league was dissolved after its second season. The Binny-Langer pair struggled in their career for a while.

“When we met each other, we were both nowhere. ICL had finished abruptly, so he was banned from the system. He hadn’t accepted BCCI amnesty, so he had nothing going for him. I had left Zee so I had nothing going for me,” Langer told Verve Magazine.

Also, during the lengthy interview, Langer talked about her aspirations to work under the banner of IPL, but w??as rejected multiple times.

“We weren’t nobodies, but we were normal individuals. Everything good that has happened to us in our respective careers has happened after we got together,” continued Langer.

Soon after, Binny rose through ranks and went on to represent India in all formats, and also represented top franchises in the ??IPL, namely Raj??asthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Langer, on the other hand, went on to present prominent sporting events such as Indian Super League (ISL), FIFA World Cup 2010, Men’s Hockey World Cup 2010, London Olympics in 2012.

Also, the Hindu college alma-mater was part of the Cricket World Cup in 2011 and 2015. With Star Sports achieving the broadcast rights in 2018, Langer then becam??e a part of the IPL to change her destin?y.

“If that journey brought us together, and made all these incredible things happen for each other, then something is going to work out in the future as well. Maybe we can combine and do something because our lives are so similar and cricket has given us everything,” concluded Langer.

Mayanti Langer Binny, the Indian sports presenter, has been a revelation in her field anchoring in the pre and post-match shows. She has hosted global events, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup, 2012 Summer Olympics, and the ICC events – the 2015 World Cup, 2017 Champions Trophy, the 2019 World Cup.

Mayanti Langer i??s now also one of the ?TV presenters for the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

But everything has not been as hun??ky-dory for Mayanti in her career. T?he charming sports anchor was rejected four times from becoming a host of the IPL.

“I got rejected for the IPL four times in a row. Before the 2011 edition, they called and said we have finalized you in the team, the next time we call you it will be about when to shoot the promo. It ended up not being me. They called me back and said, ‘Listen you’ve just done the World Cup, you can’t do this, we need a new face’,” Langer recently told Verve Magazine.

She added: “At a point I did give up, thinking it’s just not to be. Basically, they didn’t want you. It wasn’t that you weren’t good enough. You just weren’t what they were looking for. Any rejection in life is hard, and it’s hard to make peace with, but I made my peace with it. IPL is not in my destiny, cool, let me enjoy it.”

Langer even acc??epted it to be her destiny, but as they say, life is unpredictable, and one never knows when an opportunity can come knocking at your door. This is exactly what happened with her in 2018 when Star Sports Network grabbed the broadcasting rights of the IPL.

“There was a bit of confusion about how many matches I was going to do. I ended up doing all of them. Not one day off! I remember telling myself, ‘Just shut up and do it, you’ve waited so long for this, you’re finally hosting the IPL, you don’t know if you’ll get this opportunity again!'” she added.

Hosting the IPL was a dre??am come true for Langer, and she went on to disclose the message that her husband Stuart Binny gave her when she went on t??o host her first IPL game.

“He knows my journey. He knows it’s the only time in broadcast where I’ve had a lot of setbacks because someone didn’t want me. So I remember him saying ‘you’ve cracked it, enjoy it, this is your moment, make it happen’, and that’s been an amazing part of having him as a partner. His life is so stressful, so many public highs and lows, that he could understand how huge that moment was. And I enjoyed it because he was playing the IPL!”

The 13th season of the IPL is scheduled to bowl out on March 29, and from the same day, fans can see Mayant??i hosting the pre and post-match shows on Star Sports and Hotstar app.

Social media, in general, provided humankind with an array of boons as a platform of interaction with celebrities and creating greater awareness about our surroundings. However, social media also paved the way for a unique phenomenon known as ‘trolling.?/p>

Netizens often engage in mockery, abuse, sprea??ding hate using their accounts on various platforms. The cel?ebrities and the prominent personalities in the industry are the worst hit by this modern-day plague.

Every personal??ity has a method of dealing with these trollers. While the sensitive ones get affected by these trolls initially and then go on to getting used to the trolling, some might engage in s??hutting down trolls using witty replies.

One such high-profile celebrity couple is the pair of broadcaster Mayanti Langer and cricketer Stuart Binny. People frequently troll the?? two on various social media pla?tforms.

Recently, the Star Sports anchor uploaded a picture of her in the studio before the start of a match in the ongoing India tour of New Zealand. “It’s a rather colorful life in our studio, @StarSportsIndia #cricketlive #NZvsIND #firevsice,” captioned her post.

To which, some followers spammed by replying to her post enquiring, ‘Where is Stuart Binny nowadays ..???’. ‘He is helping her in carrying her baggage,’ replied another.

Langer’s reply to her trollers, on the other hand, is winning hearts all over the internet. “I can carry my own baggage thank you very much, he’s busy living his life, playing cricket, just being awesome in general, and not passing comments on people he doesn’t know,” slammed Langer.

On Friday, during an IPL encounter between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in Pune, the home side set a target of 204 for the visitors and sadly, they couldn’t chase it.

The Royals lost the match by 64 runs. It was Shane Watson’s third IPL century that helped CSK to put up such a huge total. He hit a whopping 106 which eased out things for the yellow army.

However, according to Twitteratis the credit for CSK’s performance also goes to Stuart Binny for giving away 33 runs in 2 overs. It was surely a bad day for the all-rounder.

He is trending on social media b??ut for all the wrong reasons. His performance against CSK has angered Raja??sthan fans. People are trolling him severely on twitter.
