Virat Kohli

On the 1st day of the 4th Test match between India and Australia being played at Dharamsala, the young Shreyas Iyer was roped in as a substitute late by Team India  when one of the fielders went off the park in the pos??t Tea session.

In the 80th over of the Australian innings, Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a ball pitched on middle and leg to Matthew Wade. The southpaw calmly guided it towards the leg side. Sheyas Iyer quickly got to the ball and threw the ball perfectly to wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, who then did the rest as he took the bails off the stumps running out Wade’s partner Steve O’ Keefe.

The Indian Virat Kohli, who has been ruled out of the 4th Test due to injury was quick to react on young fielder’s brilliance from the dressing room.

India lost the first Test match of a 4 match series against Australia by a huge margin of 333 runs. On a turning track, the Indian batsmen lost their wickets to a young Australian spinner, Stephen O’Keefe in both the innings.

After the match, speaking of O’Keefe’s performance at the press meet, Indian skipper Virat Kohli stated that the ball turned too much for his spinners and that might be the reason for the Australian batsman not ??edging the ball.

On a funny not?e, he added that he is confused whether he should be happy that the ball was turning so much, or he should be sad that the spinners with less turn are getting wickets.

Talking about his own wicket, Kohli accepted his mistake. “I didn’t judge the ball properly. I should have waited a bit more before leaving the ball. I think I left it too early,” he added.
