Pakistan stamped their authority with a resounding 127-run victory over the West Indies in the opening Test at Multan, showcasing a blend of resilience and brilliance across all departments. Pakistan’s spin attack, led by Noman Ali, Sajid Khan and Abrar Ahmed pr??oved too hot to handle for the West Indies as the visitors collapsed for 123, falling shor?t of their target of 251. With this dominant display, Pakistan took a crucial 1-0 lead, leaving the visitors with plenty to ponder ahead of the next Test in the series.

Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan stabilize Pakistan’s first innings

Batting first on a dry and spin-friendly Multan surface, Pakistan overcame early jitters to post a respectable total of 230, thanks to a stellar partnership between Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan. After losing four quick wickets with just 54 runs on the board, the pair weathered the storm, countering disciplined spells from Jayden Seales and Jomel Warrican. Shakeel played with remarkabl?e patience, crafting a mature 84 that held the innings together, while Rizw?an added a counter-attacking 71.

Their 117-run stand?? not only steadied the innings but also sapped the ene??rgy out of the West Indies bowlers. However, the lower order faltered against a second wave of precision from the bowlers, with Seales and Warrican finishing with three wickets each. Pakistan’s total, while not imposing, proved competitive given the challenging conditions and the lack of consistent partnerships from the opposition.

Noman Ali’s five-wicket haul demolishes West Indies

Pakistan’s spinners completely outclassed the West Indies batters, skittling them out for a paltry 137 and establishing a vital first-innings lead of 93 runs. Nom??an was the architect of this collapse, claiming figures of 5/39 with impeccable line and length, exploiting the surface’s turn and bounce. His deliveries consistently tested the batters?technique, often inducing false strokes and edging them into the waiting hands of fielders.

Sajid complemented him brilliantly, taking 4/65, ensuring relentless pressure from both ends. The visitor?s never found rhythm, with only Jomel Warrican showing some fight with an unbeaten 31, as wickets tumbled in clusters. Pakistan’s sharp fielding added to the West Indies?misery, with catches in close positions reflecting their superior preparation. The collapse exposed the visitors?vulnerability against spin, a recurring challenge? that Pakistan capitalized on masterfully.

Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmad seal a dominant win despite Jomel Warrican’s heroics

Pakistan’s second innings faced initial tremors, but Shan Masood’s composed 52 and Mohammad Hurraira’s handy 29 helped them post a target of 251, despite Warrican’s career-best figures of 7/32. The left-arm spinner’s spell was a masterclass in precision, dismantling Pakistan’s batting order and briefly igniting hopes for the West Indies. However, the visitors’ batting unit once again crumbled under pressure, this time against the combined efforts of Sajid and Abrar.

Sajid’s 4/35 and Abrar’s 4/27 spun a web around the batters, leaving them clueless. Alick Athanaze fought valiantly with a gritty 55, showcasing skill and determination, but his teammates failed to offer any meaningful resistance. The West Indies were bundled out for 123, sealing a massive 127-run win for Pakistan. The hosts?superior all-round performance underscored their dominance and exposed glaring weaknesses in the visitors’ lineup, setting a strong tone for the remainder of the series.

The second day of the opening Test between Pakistan and West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium began with Pakistan resuming their first innings at 143 for 4, with Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan at the crease. Shakeel was on 56 and Rizwan on 51, both having played crucial roles in stabilizing the innings after a shaky start. However, Shakeel fell short of a century, eventually scoring 84 runs before being dismissed by Kevin Sinclair, leading to a dramatic collapse for Pakistan.

A sudden collapse of Pakistan

Pakistan’s batting lineup faced a significant setback as they lost their last six wickets for just 43 runs, finishing their first innings at a total of 230 runs. The West Indies bowlers, particularly Jayden Seales and Jomel Warrican, exploited the conditions effectively. Seales claimed three wickets early on, dismantling Pakistan’s top order, while Warrican added three more to his tally as he wrapped up the innings. The fall of wickets was rapid, with key players like Rizwan and Agha Salman al??so succumbing ?to pressure, leaving Pakistan in a precarious position.

West Indies’ struggle against the brilliance of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan

In response, West Indies faced a daunting task. Their innings got off to a disastrous start as they were reduced to 10 for 2 within just two overs. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan were relentless with their bowling, taking full advantage of th?e spin-friendly conditions. Ali was particularly impressive, securing five wickets for only 39 runs in his 11 overs. Khan supported him well with four wickets for 65 runs in his 12 overs. The West Indies batting lineup crumbled under pressure, managing only 137 runs before being bowled ??out in just over 25 overs.

Pakistan’s star spinner, Sajid Khan, was instrumental in this win, delivering a masterclass in spin bowling to claim England’s last crucial wickets and seal th?e series.

Sajid Khan’s stunning delivery seals Jamie Smith’s wicket

One of the major highlights of Day 3 came when Sajid bowled an incredible delivery to dismiss England’s Jamie Smith, effectively sealing England’s fate. In the 25th over of England’s second innings, Smith attempted a wild slog, charging down the track to meet the ball, but Sajid anticipated his move and skillfully slowed the delivery. The ball spun sharply and crashed into Smith’s middle stump, leaving England reeling. Smith was bowled out after managing only 3 runs from 16 balls, a dismissal that demonstrated Sajid’s precise control and mastery of spin.

Pakistan have secured a comprehensive 9-wicket victory against England in the third and final Test, clinching the series 2-1. The win was powered by the exceptional performances of spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, who wreaked havoc on England’s batting line-up across both innings.

England’s struggles against spin in first innings

After electing to bat first, England managed to post 267 runs on the board, with contributions from Zak Crawley (29), Harry Brook (51), and Jamie Smith (89). However, they struggled to handle Pakistan’s spin attack. Sajid was the chief destroyer, claiming six wickets for 128 runs, while Noman provided excellent support with three wickets. England’s middle-order collapsed as Sajid and Noman exploited the conditions to perfection, leaving England unable to build any significant partnerships.

Pakistan’s strong response with the bat

In reply, Pakistan took a crucial 77-run lead by scoring 344 in their first innings. The top-order failed to capitalize, but the middle and lower-order contributions were vital. Saud Shakeel (134) led the way with a commanding century, supported by a gritty 48* from Sajid, who also impressed with the ball. England’s bowlers struggled to find consistent breakthroughs, with Shoaib Bashir (3 wickets) and Rehan Ahmed (4 wickets) being the pick of the bowlers.

England collapse in the second innings

England’s second innings was a disaster, as they were bowled out for just 112 runs. Noman led the charge, taking six wickets and dismantling England’s batting unit. Sajid was again brilliant, taking four wickets, including crucial scalps like Ben Stokes ?and Jamie. The spinners dominated, an?d none of the English batters could withstand their consistent pressure, as Noman and Sajid combined for all 10 wickets.

Pakistan chase down the paltry target easily

Chasing a small target of 36, Pakistan lost Saim Ayub early, but Abdullah Shafique (5*) and skipper Shan Masood (23*) steered the team home comfortably in just 3.1 overs, sealing a 9-wicket win. The series v?ictory highligh??ted Pakistan’s dominance at home, particularly their effective use of spin bowling.

This victory gave Pakistan a 2-1 series win, reflecting their resilience after losing the first Test. The team’s spinners, led by Sajid and Noman, played a pivotal role throughout the series. England, meanwhile, will need to reassess their approach against spin after succumbing to heavy defeats in the second and third ??Tests.

In an exciting series decider at Rawalpindi Stadium, Jamie Smith‘s remarkable performance has captured the attention of cricket fans worldwide. As England faced off against Pakistan in the crucial third Test, Smith’s innings became a beacon of hope for his team amid challenging conditions. With the series tied at 1-1, both teams entered the contest with everything to play for, making it a high-stakes encounter that would determine the winner of the series.

England’s challenging start on a tricky wicket

Winning the toss, England captain Ben Stokes opted to bat first, a decision that quickly proved to be fraught with difficulty. The pitch at Rawalpindi exhibited unpredictable behaviour, characterized by uneven bounce and turn that troubled the batters throughout their innings. Despite a promising start with a 56-run opening partnership between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, England soon found themselves in dire straits.

The batting lineup crumbled under pressure, losing six wickets for just 62 runs to leave them reeling at 118 for 6. Key players such as Stokes and Ollie Pope fell cheaply, adding to the mounting tension within the England camp. The top order struggled significantly against Pakistan’s spinners, who exploited the conditions effectively.

Jamie Smith’s knock saves England’s day out on the field

Amidst the chaos of wickets falling around him, Smith emerged as a standout performer for England. Partnering with Gus Atkinson, Smith orchestrated a stunning recovery, forging a vital 107-run partnership for the seventh wicket. His aggressive ye?t composed approach wa??s instrumental in stabilizing England’s innings. Smith’s impressive knock of 89 runs off 119 balls included four boundaries and an astonishing seven sixes, demonstrating his ability to dominate the Pakistani bowlers despite the challenging pitch conditions.

Smith’s innings was particularly noteworthy as he showcased exceptional skill and determination. His ability to clear the ropes consistently put pressure on the Pakistani bowlers and lifted England’s spirits at a time when they desperately needed it. However, as he approached his century, he fell victim to Zahid Mahmood’s bowling on the third ball of the 63rd over.

Sajid Khan saves a certain six of Smith

While Smith’s innings was commendable, it was Sajid Khan who truly s?tole the s??how with his exceptional bowling performance. Khan claimed six wickets for just 128 runs, leading Pakistan’s charge against England’s batting lineup. His ability to exploit the turning conditions proved pivotal in dismantling England’s top order.

Khan’s spell included critical breakthroughs that shifted momentum firmly in Pakistan’s favour. He dismissed key players like Joe Root and Stokes in quick succession, which further compounded England’s woes. Notably, Khan also made an impressive fielding effort just before dismissing Smith; he prevented a potential six from going over the boundary, which seemed to inspire Smith to take risks that ultimately led to his downfall.

Here’s the video:

Smith falls short of his maiden away ton

Smith’s dismissal was a pivotal moment in the match. Attempting a slog sweep, he mistimed his shot and offered a top-edge that was comfortably caught by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. This dismissal was particularly disheartening for Smith; he had been on the verge of achieving his second Test century and his first away from home. His kno?ck will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best innings played on a difficult track.

Day 2 expects to be full of drama

As England concluded their innings at 267 all out, they faced an uphill battle against Pakistan’s formidable batting lineup. At the close of play on day one, Pakistan found themselves at 73 for 3 in response to England’s total. The match remains finely balanced as both teams look to assert their dominance in this decisive Test.

With both sides eager to secure victory and claim the series win—currently tied at 1-1—the stakes could not be higher. The Rawalpindi pitch continues to play a ??significant role in shaping this encounter, wit??h spin bowlers expected to dominate as the match progresses.

The much-anticipated third Test between Pakistan and England commenced in Rawalpindi with both teams eager to claim victory in a series tied at 1-1. England, having won the toss, opted to bat first, aiming to set a formidable total. However, it was Pakistan’s Sajid Khan who quickly made headlines with a stunning delivery that dismissed Harry Brook behin?d the legs, marking a signifi??cant moment on Day 1.

Sajid Khan shatters Harry Brook’s stumps

In a pivotal over, Sajid showcased his exceptional spin bowling skills. After two forward defensives and two attempted sweeps, Brook misjudged the line of Sajid’s delivery. As he moved across his stumps, the ball spun sharply, crashing into the leg stump and leaving Brook bewildered. This dismissal not only highlighted Sajid’s talent but also reflected Brook’s struggles in Pakistan, where his batting average now dipped into “mere Bradman territory”—a stark reminder of the challenges posed by subcontinental conditions.

Despite a solid start with openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett contributing to a 50-run partnership, England soon found themselves in trouble. After reaching 110 runs at lunch, they suffered a dramatic collapse, losing five wickets for just 37 runs. The combination of Sajid’s spin and Pakistan’s relentless bowling attack proved too much for England’s middle order. The dismissal of key players like Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope added to their?? woes, leaving them at 110/5 by ?the end of the session.

Eventually, England were bundled out for 267, with Jamie Smith playing a crucial knock of 89 runs down the order. Pakistan, in response, ended the day at 73/3 after 23 overs, trailing by 194 runs. The day saw exceptional bowling from Sajid Khan, who took six wickets, while Jamie Smith?/strong>s ?89-run knock was a standout?? performance for England

England’s faltering opening partnership

England’s innings began on a shaky note as their openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett shared a modest stand of 56 runs. Crawley looked comfortable initially but was dismissed for 29, failing to convert his start. Soon after, Sajid’s spell changed the game, as he quickly dismantled England’s top order. Ollie Pope, Joe Root and Harry Brook all fell cheaply, putting England in serious trouble at 98/5. Duckett, though resilient, could not carry on much longer and fell leg-before to Noman Ali after reaching his half-century, leaving England’s middle-or??d??er in tatters.

Amid the ruins of England’s collapsing innings, Jamie stood tall, producing a brilliant knock of 89 runs from 119 balls. Smith formed a crucial partnership with Gus Atkinson, whose patient 39 helped stabilize England’s innings. Sajid Khan’s bowling masterclass

Pakistan’s spinner Sajid delivered a career-best performance, taking 6/128 to dismantle England’s batting lineup. He bowled with sharp precision, using subtle variations and the turning Rawalpindi pitch to his advantage. Sajid’s consistent pressure on the England batters led to regular breakthroughs, particularly through the middle and lower order, ensuring England couldn’t build partnerships. Noman was a valuable partner in the bowling attack, picking up three wickets, while Zahid claimed the final dismissal to wrap up England’s innings.

England batter Joe Root fell to the bowling of Sajid Khan once more, departing for a mere five runs during the first innings on Day 1 of the third Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi on Thursday, October 24.

Sajid had already dismissed Root in the first innings of the previous Test in Multan, showcasing his ability to trouble the seasoned batter with a sharply turning delivery. After a lackluster start from the Pakistan spinners when England chose to bat, Noman Ali and Sajid eventually found some turn. Following the quick dismissals of Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope, Root arrived a??t the crease with England at 70/2 in the f??irst session.

Sajid Khan’s masterclass: Dismissing Joe Root with a stunning delivery

In a crucial moment of the match, Sajid claimed the prized wicket o?f Root with a delivery in the 20.6 over that began wide of off stump and turned sharply back into him, catching Root off guard. Deep in his crease, Root was unable to react in time as the ball hit his pads with a?? loud thud.

Umpire Chris Gaffaney raised his finger promptly, and Root, recognizing the futility of a review, chose not to contest the decision. Ball-tracking technology later confirmed that the ball was on course to hit the middle of the stumps, highlighting Sajid’s precision. This wicket proved significant, leaving England in a precarious position at 81/3.

Root’s ongoing challenges on spin-friendly wickets

After scoring a mammoth double century in the series opener, Root has struggled on challenging wickets favoring spin. In the second Test, he managed scores of 34 and 18 on a difficult surface, and his latest score of five marks his second-lowest in Pakistan. Notably, this was the first time in 17 innings that he failed to reach double figures. The spin duo of Sajid and Noman continued their impressive form from Multan, with the pair bowling all 24 overs in the first session as Shan Masood opted for spin from both ends with the new ball.

England’s batters collapses under pressure

Ben Duckett appeared to be in control, nearing his half-century, while Harry Brook joined the action following Root’s dismissal. At lunch, England were positioned at 110/5 after 30 overs.  Soon after the fall of Root, Noman made a significant impact by dismissing centurion Duckett, asserting his dominance in the match. Sajid then took Brook’s wicket for just one run, as England, who had started brightly, found themselves rocked back by some exceptional spin bowling from Pakistan.
