Delhi Capitals’ (DC) woes in the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) continue, as right-arm pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to a back injury. The 23-year-old has a history of back injuries and has not played a single game for Delhi this season. Nagarkoti’s absence is a big blow for the team, which is already struggling with its bowling performances.

Despite showing some promise in the past, Nagarkoti has not been at his best lately. He took only seven wickets across domestic tournaments in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 and was unable to make it to Delhi’s playing eleven in their first five games this season. The decision to rule him out of the remainder of the tournament was taken keeping in mind his long-term fitness.

DC have a strong pace attack, with the likes of Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar and Chetan Sakariya featuring regularly. Overseas stars Anrich Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman also add depth to the team’s pace attack. However, Nagarkoti’s injury will put more pressure on the team’s remaining options. The trio of Khaleel, Mukesh and Nortje have only taken nine wickets combined so far, which reflects in Delhi’s poor position on the league table.

Delhi’s spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel have also not contributed significantly, with just six wickets between them so far. With Nagarkoti out, DC will have to rely on their existing options and try to turn their fortunes around. The team’s bench strength includes experienced players like Ishant Sharma and Lungi Ngidi, but they have not been given many ?opportunities this season.

To add some depth to the squad, DC have included domestic talents Abhimanyu Easwaran and Priyam Garg in their training camp. The duo will be eager to make their mark and contribute to the team’s success. Despite the setback of Nagarkoti’s injury, DC will hope to turn their fortunes around and make a push for the playoffs.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) tasted their first defeat in the 2020 edit??ion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after falling 15-runs short of the t?arget set up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), on Wednesday (September 30).

This was the second consecutive victory for the Knight Riders that saw ??them rise to the second spot in the ??points table.

Earlier in the match, Steve Smith won the toss and chose to bowl first.

KKR posted a challenging total of 174/6 in 20 overs, courtesy valuable contributions from Sh?ubman Gill, Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan.

Shubman missed his half-century by three runs while Morgan made 34 off 23 balls.

Nagarkoti shines in KKR’s triumph

Chasing the target, the Royals couldn’t have imagined the worst start. They lost the likes of Steve Smith, Jos Buttler and Sanu Samson inside 40 runs.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti struck tw??ice in his very first over, removing both Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag to reduce RR to? 42/5.

Nagarkoti conceded 13 runs from his spell of two overs and picked up two ?crucial wickets.

Nagarkoti shone once again in the fifteenth over when he pulled off a stunning catch to get rid off Jofra Archer, who tried to slog a good length delivery over the bowlers’ head. Archer, however, couldn’t connect it properly and the ball rose high up in the air towards long-on. Nagarkoti rushed in and leapt parallel to the ground to grab the catch.

In the end, RR?????????????????????????? wa?s restricted to 137/9 in twenty overs. Apart from Nagarkoti, both Shivam Mavi and Varun Chakravarthy picked up two wickets each.

“I want to thank my family, the KKR support staff and everyone else who have stood by me. Many people like my family, Dravid Sir, Abhishek (Nayar) bhaiyya. There have been so many people to thank. It’s a nice experience to learn from Pat Cummins who is a really good bowler. I try to execute what I learn from him,” said Nagarkoti at the post-match conference.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been dealt with a few injury concerns ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 that is scheduled to beg??in from March 23.

19-year-old fast bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled for a second time running as he’s yet to recover from a back injury. Knight Riders have roped in Kerala pacer Sandeep Warrier as his replacement.

Warrier, who was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) set up for the last three IPL seasons, but was unable to get a game, went unsold in the mega auctions last December. He was one of the stars in Kerala’s historic performance in the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 picking 44 wickets.

Nagarkoti, who was bought by KKR for Rs 3.2 crore in the 2018 IPL auction, was one of the prime members of India’s Under-19 World Cup title-winning team. He is currently recovering at the BCCI’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and will need another two to three months to fully recover.

In another blow to? the pace department, Shivam Mav??i, who was also part of the U-19 World Cup winning team last year, has been ruled out of the upcoming IPL season with a stress fracture in his back. Mavi, who plays for Uttar Pradesh in the domestic circuit, is likely to be out of action for at least six months.

KKR will start their IPL 2019 campaign with a home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 24.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Kolkata Knight Riders pace?r Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). A foot injury has forced the Under-19 World Cup star out of the tournament and Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna has been called in as his replacement.

The 18-year-old Nagarkoti was bought by the KKR franchise during the players’ auction for a hefty amount of Rs 3.20 crores and was set to play an important role in the side’s run in the tournament.

Nagarkoti’s replacement, Krishna is a 22-year-old fast bowler from Karnataka, who has featured in one first-class match, 19 List-A encounters and three T20s and has picked up six, 33 and four wickets in them respectively.

As Nagarokti picked up the injury before the commencement of the ?t?ournament, the Karnataka medium pacer was called up by the Kolkata-based outfit as a backup option earlier and he featured for them in a couple of practice matches as well.

As far as the Kolkata based franchise is considered, they are already running low on fast bowling resour??ces. Mitchell Starc was ruled out before the start of the tournament and now Nagarkoti has been ruled out as well.

Therefore, now in absence of two of their most?? potent pacers in Starc and Nagarkoti, Mitchell Johnson, Tom Curran and Shivam Mavi are ex?pected to step up and take their team through.
