Paris didn’t have to wait long for redemption. Later in the same over, he dismissed Bethell, who had been anchoring the Renegades�innings and was just one run shy of his maiden BBL half-century. A short delivery from Paris climbed awkwardly on Bethell, forcing a mistimed pull shot. The ball took the top edge and flew to short third, where Sam Harper ran across to complete a sharp catch.

Bethell’s dismissal for 49 runs off 36 balls (4 fours, 2 sixes) broke a crucial partnership and pro??vided the Melbourne Stars with much-needed momentum during the Power Surge.
