Chappell expressed his conviction that the host nation, India, would lead the charge alongside cricketing powerhouses Australia, Pakistan, and reigning champions England.

Chappell acknowledged the significance of the Indian subcontinent’s prowess in the cricketing realm due to the tournament’s location. His words carried a certain weight, as he stated, “With this regard, it’s in India at the moment. I think the four teams to watch for me, India obviously, Australia, England, and Pakistan, probably the four best teams. India’s young opener Shubman Gill has left everyone astonished with his brilliant strokeplay and exploits in recent times. The 23-year-old opener has put on an excellent show across formats this year and was also selected in India’s World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final squad based on those performances.
