Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is known for voicing out his opinion quite freely. He is one of the few men’s cricketers, who more often than not, talk about women cricket and shares his views on the matches of various teams.

Recently, the Tamil Nadu tweaker reacted to the final T20I played between England Women and India Women at County Ground in Chelmsford.

Ashwin took to Twitter and heaped praises on England opener Danielle Wyatt for playing an unbelievable knock t??o take her s?ide over the finish line and win the T20I series. Wyatt smashed an unbeaten 89 from 56 deliveries and inspired the hosts to chase down the target of 154 runs in 18.4 overs with eight wickets in hand.

“Quality knock that from Dani Wyatt! Well done, England on a fantastic series win, and India were equally impressive throughout, too,” Ashwin wrote on the micro-blogging website.

After the match, Wyatt reacted to Ashwin’s tweet, thanking the Indian cricketer for nice words. She even termed Ashwin as a legend of the game. Wyatt then wished the Chennai-born good luck for the Test series against England but ended her tweet with a cheeky line of ‘not too much’.

“Thanks a lot, Ashwin! Nice to receive kind words from a legend in the game. Good luck v our boys but not too much (Closed-Eyes Smile emoji),” tweeted Wyatt.

Ash couldn’t control to respond to Wyatt’s comical reply. He thanked her and wished her good luck for England Women’s next project against New Zealand Women.

“(Star-struck Face with tears of joy emoji) Thank you and good luck with the kiwis (Thumbs up emoji),” the offie wrote.

Ashwin is himself currently in the United Kingdom (UK), preparing ??for the upcoming five-match Test series against England by featuring in county matches. The 34-year-old played a game for Surrey where h???e picked up seven wickets in the match against Somerset.

The red-ball battle between England and India begins in the first week of August. The second cycle of the Wo????rld Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 also starts from this series.

England opener Danielle Wyatt completely dominated the proceedings in the third and final T20I against India as hosts managed to ??defeat the?? visitors by eight wickets to win the series at County Ground in Chelmsford on Wednesday.

Wyatt smashed a sensational unbeaten 89 off 56 during England’s chase of 154. She hit 12 fours and a six to take her side over the finish line in 18.4 overs.

Wyatt was well supported by all-rounder Natalie Sciver, who made 42 off 36 balls. The duo ??stitched a tremendou??s 112-run stand for the second wicket to take the game away from the touring party.

Earlier, the Women in Blue posted 153/6 on the scoreboard in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of opener Smriti Mandhana’s remarkable batting display. The left-handed batter sma??shed 70 runs from just 51 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries.

Apart from Mandhana, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur hit 36 off 26 deliveries, while wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh chipped in with 20 from 13? balls to take India to a competitive total.

For the home team, spinner Sophie Ecclestone shined with the ball, picking up a three-wicket haul for 35 runs in her quota of 4 overs. Katherine Brunt also added two wickets to her name, including the prize scalp of Shafali Verma (0).

“It was about time (to get back to form). It was my night today. Glad to contribute to a series win. It was a beautiful pitch, came on nice, and I felt that my best options were to hit straight as well as over cover. There is always pressure to do well; I just try to enjoy it. Will try to enjoy myself on and off the field, score runs and then see what happens (to my ODI future),” said Wyatt after receiving the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

On Tuesday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the England Women squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India Women. The T20I leg?? will begin fr?om Friday (July 09) at County Ground in Northampton.

Dannielle Wyatt, who was left out for the one-off Test and the ODI series, has made a comeback to the English squad. Wyatt last featured in the T20I and ODI series against New Zealand, where she played all six games. However, Wyatt only managed to scor?e 18 runs in the thre?e ODIs, whereas 45 runs in the three T20Is.

However, the good news for England is that Wyatt has been in a remarkable form in the domestic circuit. She managed to smash three successive half-centuries for the Vipers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint ??Trophy. Wyatt?? also scored a 33-ball 45 in the Charlotte Edwards Cup game against Central Sparks.

Apart from Wyatt, Mady Villiers has also been included in the 14-member squad. Just like Wyatt, Villiers also last played the T20I series against New Zealand. She picked up four wickets in three matches at an average? of 10.25.

However, Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill have been excluded from the T20I sq??uad due to their domestic cricket duties.

“We’ve played some good cricket across both the Test and ODIs, and we’ve named a strong squad for the IT20 series. It’s 6-4 in the multi-format series, and we’re pushing hard to win. We probably weren’t quite at our best in the third ODI, so I’d like us to hit the ground running in the first IT20 and be ruthless,” said Head Coach Lisa Keightley.

England Women squad:

Heather Knight (c), Tammy ?Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Freya Davies, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Amy Jones, Nat Sciv??er, Anya Shrubsole, Mady Villiers, Fran Wilson, Danni Wyatt, Tash Farrant, Sarah Glenn.

England women cricket team’s star all-rounder Danielle Wyatt enjoys a huge fan following in India. Ever since her ‘Marry me’ tweet for Virat Kohli went viral on social media, Wyatt has been a household name in the cricket-crazy nation like India.

Recently, Wyatt, wh??o mostly opens the innings for England in T20Is, revealed the name of an IPL team she would love to play for.

Apart from touring India with the English side, Wyatt has been a regular feature in the Women’s Challenger Trophy aka Women’s IPL. She has entertained the Indian crowd with some swashbuckling knocks in the tournament during her last two seasons with team Velocity.

Meanwhile, during a chat with cricket.com, when Wyatt was asked to name one men’s IPL team she would like to be a part of, the 29-year-old unsurprisingly picked Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Notably, she shares a great bond with many Bangalore cricketers other than Kohli.

“I don’t mind any team, really. But I support Royal Challengers Bangalore because they have/had Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal and AB de Villiers. So, RCB would be cool, I’d love to play for them,” she said.

Wyatt, who was a member of England’s 2017 World Cup-winning team, has played 74 ODIs and 109 T20Is. She has one century in ODIs and two tons in T20Is – only England batter with two hundreds in the shortest format.

Apart from picking the men’s IPL team she would love to play for, Wyatt also opened up on her bond with Tendulkar family and revealed that Arjun is getting tougher to face in the nets. “Since then whenever I bump into Sachin or Arjun or whenever they come to Lord’s to train, I go to the nets and ask him (Arjun) to bowl with the new ball to me. But he is getting very quick now. He always says I will bounce you and knock your head off so I don’t like him bowling to me anymore. He is getting too dangerous to face,” Wyatt said.

Wyatt, like other female cricketers, might miss out on playing the game this season as England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has no plans to resume women’s cricket for now.

In recent months, there has hardly been any cricketer who has been act?ive on social media as much as Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Chahal is known to crash Instagram Live conversations through his hilarious comments and was even ba??rbed at b??y Indian captain Virat Kohli, regarding his habit.

Kohli, along with vice-captain Rohit Sharma, mocked Chahal’s uneasiness during lockdown claiming that the spinner must be itching to go outside once it is lifted.

Chahal was scheduled t??o resume his IPL stint with RCB in the thirteenth edition, which is now p?ostponed amid COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in India.

Also, Chahal developed a substantial amount of following through his rib-tickling Tik-Tok videos. The wily tweaker’s banter with England batter Danielle Wyatt is well-known by now.

A few months back, Wyatt posted a picture of herself while playing a stroke during a match. To which Chahal commented, ‘six sixes in an over’.

Wyatt humorously replied at Chahal by saying ?that she cou?ld only achieve the feat if the latter was bowling to her.

Now, the England swashbuckler revealed about not meeting Chahal in?? person and that their interactions are only limited to social media.

“I have never met Chahal. We follow each other on Instagram and have some good friendly banter towards each other. He is a fantastic bowler and he is absolutely funny on social media too,” Wyatt told cricket.com

Further, Wyatt gained headlines for her meeting with Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun at Lord’s Cricket Ground back in 2009-10.

After a formal introduction, Wyatt bowled a few deliveries at Arjun and tagged him as ‘very good? However, Wyatt claimed that she doesn’t like facing Arjun anymore since he is getting quicker.
