India and Australia have played 120 complete ODIs against each other with the Aussies leading ??the scoreline by 74??-46. In the 14 matches played at the MCG, the visitors have emerged victorious on five occasions.

After losing the first ODI, the Men in Blue came back in the second game against the Aussies and levelled the series. Now both these sides will face each ot?her in the third and deciding fixture at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on  January 18.

Australia have made two changes to their playing XI for the series-decider against India in Melbourne, with Adam Zampa and Billy Stanlake coming into the side. Stanlake replaces paceman Jason Behrendorff, w??ho has been ruled out with back soreness, while spinner Nathan Lyon has been dropped to make way for Zampa.

Lyon’s axing from the Australian ODI team comes just two matches after he had replaced Zampa in the side for the series opener in Sydney.

Australia retained an unchanged XI for th?e second match, which India won by six wickets. That match saw Lyon hit for 0-59 off his 10 overs. ??He went for 0-50 in the first match.

Skipper Finch defended him on Thursday, saying: “I thought the way Gaz has bowled has been really impressive.

“In Adelaide, obviously a short square boundary and bowled really well quite defensively, which I think for his role was pretty important, seeing anytime the ball’s been tossed up Rohit Sharma hit a couple off him in the first game and (MS) Dhoni the other day.

“He’s bowling against some pretty world-class (batsmen) … some all-timers, really.”

Zampa’s last ODI appearance came against South Africa in November. He also failed to take a wicket in two matches that series.

Australia have gone two years without winning an ODI series. Since beating Pakistan 4-1 in January 2017, they have won ??four and lost 20 ODIs with? three no-results due to weather.

Australia’s playing XI:

Aaron Finch (c), Alex Carey (wk), Usman Khawaja, Shaun Ma??rsh, Peter Handscomb, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Peter Siddle, Adam Zampa, Bill Stanlake.

Australia have drafted Mitchell Starc into the squad for? the third and final T20I of the ongoing series against India as a replacement for the injured Billy Stanlake.

Stanlake suffered a moderate grade ankle sprain during a catching drill ahead of the washed-out second T20I in Melbourne. He was replaced by Nathan Coulter-Nile for the game and has now been ruled out of the final game in Sydney with Starc taking his p??lace in the ?13-man squad.

Starc last played a T20 international in September 2016, with his last home game in the format coming further back in 2014. The left-arm pacer, who was originally rested for the ongoing three-match T20I series against India, turned out for his state side New South Wales in the last round of S??heffield Shield fixtures against Queensland.

He was expected to sit out the next round of the first class competition in a bid to prepare for the upcoming four-match Test seri?es aga?inst India starting from December 6.

This is what Australia captain Aaron Finch said about the speedster, “Starc has got so much experience in the limited-overs games as well and we’ve seen how dominant he can be when he gets it right with the ball.”

Australia leads the series 1-0 after winning the first match of the series by 4 runs (DLS) at th??e Gabba in Brisbane on Wednesday.

Australia’s revised squad:

Aaron Finch(c), Alex Carey, As?hton Agar, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, Ben McDermott, D Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye, Ada??m Zampa, Mitchell Starc

The thr?ee-match T20I series b?etween Australia and India is just two days away.

Australia had a disappointing season so far with consecutive losses against Pakistan and South Africa bu??t will be hoping to turn things around against? the Men in Blue.

For the upcoming T20I series, Australia has rested some of their regular players. Steve Smith and David Warner who were suspended by Cricket Australia for the ball tampering incident earlier this year will not be making a comeback for India’s tour.

One of the highlights of Australia’s team for the T20I series against India is the omission of Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh from the 13-man squad. The selectors are keen on striking the balance with the team which has just lost to South Africa. Aaron Finch will be captaining the side once again.

At the top of batting order, Australia will depend on the likes of Finch, D’Arcy Short, and Chris Lynn to rack up the runs. Vice-captain and wicketkeeper Alex Carey too will be featuring in his first series against India. Ben McDermott has been picked as the backup wicketkeeper. Australia will also depend on the T20 experience of Glenn Maxwell in the middle-order.

Among the all-rounders, Australia has an in-form Marcus Stoinis who will be playing his first series against India at home. Stoinis has been exceptional in the last two months against Pakistan and South Africa. Andre Tye, who may know a thing or two about the Indian players, thanks to his stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL)?? will also have a go against the Men in Blue. Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar are Australia’s spin options with Nathan Lyon rested for the T20 series.

Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Billy Stanlake complete Australia’s bowling unit with Starc sitting out of the 20-over format series.

The first T20I will be playe?d on Wednes?day (November 21) at the Gabba in Perth.

Australia’s squad for 3 T20Is:

Aaron Finch (c), Alex Carey (vc & wk), Ashton Agar, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, Ben McDermott, D’Arcy Short, Billy Stanlake, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa

Cameron White was hit with a high full-toss by Billy Stanlake during Victoria’s clash with Queensland in the JLT Cup.

It was a shocking delivery from Stanlake who is known for bowling with a speed of upto 150kmph. The ball slipped from his hands and directly landed into White’s helmet leaving him stunned. He bowled a beamer towards the batsman which hit him on the helmet as he went down to the ground.

Cameron White beamer

Thankfu?lly, White survived the scary delivery and was given the permission by the physios to continue his innings.

However, the accidental beamer did seem to have taken a toll on White as he couldn’t bat on for long and was dismissed by Jack Wildermuth after being caught by Chris Lynn. The blow appeared dangerous at the time he was hit as it appeared like he had been hit on his throat. But White copped with the vicious full-toss.
