On Sunday, during the match between Sydney Thunders and Sydney Sixers, Ben Cutting took an amazing catch to dismiss James Vince in the 34th game of the Big Bash League 2022-23.

Thunders’ batting first posted a total of 133 in the allotted 20 overs. Whereas in reply Sixers went on to win the match by seven wickets and 22 balls remaining.

Cutting while fielding for thunders in the second inning? took a flyin?g catch at the boundary to send opponent opener Vince to the pavilion.

In the second ball of the third over, Brendan Doggett of Thunders bowled an outside-the-off stump delivery to Vince, on which the Sixers’ opener tried to smash an off-side boundary. The ball was going with a rocket speed, and it almost seemed a six until Ben Cutting emerged from nowhere and pulled off the stunner.

Ben judged the ball perfectly and dived full le?ngth to his right to get hold of the ball and was later s?een celebrating.

It was an important wicket for Thunders as Vince had scored an unbeaten 91 ag??ainst the Melb??ourne Stars in his last match.

Sydney Thunder all-rounder Ben Cutting suffered a brain-fade moment on the field during the Sydney Sixers’ innings.

On the fourth ball of the 16th over – the final over of the innings in a rain-shortened fixture – where the Thunder quick Nathan McAndrew bowled a sharp yorker to Christian after having erred with a no-ball on ??the previous delivery.

Christian hit the ball straight into the hands of Cutting, who was fielding on the offside inside the 30-yard circle. Cutting threw the ball in air, presuming a caught dismissal. He completely forgot that it wa??????????????????????????s a free-hit delivery.

In the meantime, Christian and Jordan Silk completed a double and were seen bursting into laughter on the scenes that unfolded, while Cutting looked dejected with himself??. Seeing the two batters laugh, even the commentators joined in the fun.

The ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-21 has reached the business end with only two matches left in the tournament. Sydney Sixers are already in the final where t??hey will meet the winner of the Challenger game.

Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat will face each other on Thursday (February 04) in the Challenger match??, and winner of this game will qualify for t?he season finale.

Recently, in the Knockout contest, Heat defeated Sydney Thunder to book a place in the Challenger. During the game, Chris Lynn-led side chased down the target of 159 with five balls to spare, thanks to a brilliant 74-run knock by Sam Heazlett.

The contest also witnessed a cameo by Ben Cutting, who scored unbeaten 34 runs from 18 balls with a scintillating strike-rate of 188 to ta??ke Thunder at a competitive total.

Apart from Cutting, Thunder opener Usman Khawaja smashed 28 off 30 balls, skipper Callum Ferguson scored 25 from 20 deliveries and wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings made 34 off 24 balls.

For Heat, pacer Mark Steketee and spinner Mitchell Swepson bagged two wickets each while Ben Laughlin, Marnus Labuschagne, and Morkel picked up one scalp each.

Australian cricketer Ben Cutting and his model-turned-presenter fiancee Erin Holland were set to tie the knot earlier this year but due to COVID-19 pandemic will now have to wait a??nd see which date is best fo?r 2021.

Erin, who recently pai?d over $1.2million for a two-bedroom apartment in Sydney with Ben, on Wednesday revealed that it had been a ‘difficult’ year for them as a couple, due to lockdown and border restrictions.

“It’s been really difficult. I had that period where we were all in lockdown and it kind of felt that we were in it together and I was with Ben and I came back from working overseas,” Erin was quoted as saying to Daily Mail A?ustralia.

“That time together was lovely, we never ever spent more than a couple of weeks in a row together. Rescheduling the wedding twice now has not been fun.

“It’s been quite a stress and the longer it goes on, the harder it is to get your head around,” she added.

Erin also revealed that it’s tough to reschedule their wedding due to Ben’s cricketing commitments.

“I know in the scheme of things, it’s not the most important thing, but for something like that, you have your heart set on it. And for us, our schedules change so quickly, we don’t know if Ben will even be available for certain dates,” she added further.

After the long COVID-19 break, Ben will return to action in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL). In September, the all-rounder ended his nine-year association with Brisbane Heat to move to Sydney Thunder on a two-year deal.

In Thunder, Ben will play alongside his best friend Usman Khawaja. “It’s playing alongside good people, most of the guys I’ve come across and played a lot of cricket against or with around the world,” he had said after joining the new club.

The winners of the inaugural season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals, received a huge setback with the i?njury to England’s pace sensation Jofra Archer.
