Asif Ali scored an unbeaten 25 runs off just 7 balls to power Pakistan to a five-wicket victory over Afghanistan in Match 24 of? T20 World Cup 20??21 and put them on course for the semifinals.

Afghanistan looked to take the game away from Pakistan after setting a to?tal of 147/6 and restricting their scoring for much of the reply. But Asif changed the dynamics with four big sixes as Pakistan ??secured their third successive win with six balls remaining.

His heroics were needed as, although skipper Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman made 51 and 30, respectively, the rest of Pakistan’s batters had struggled to find a rhythm. Mohammad Rizwan departed for eight while Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik scored just 10 and 19.

Batting first, Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib made 35 not out each and Najibullah Zadran added 22 as Afghan?istan recovered from the early jolts given ??by Pakistan.

After an enthralling cou??ple of matches on the? opening day of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020, the action shifted to the second day of the tournament.

Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) took on St. Lucia Zouks (SLZ) at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad. Tallawahs’ captain Rovman Powell won the toss and opted to bowl first at the dry surface on offer.

The Zouks could only manage a par score of 158, losing seven wickets in the process. Roston Chase starred in Zouks’ effort with the bat, thanks to his anchoring knock of 52, which came off 42 deliveries.

S?pinner Veerasammy Permaul, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and Sandeep Lamichhane utilized the conditions and shared five-wickets amongst them?selves.

Tallawahs?task of chasing 159 w??as made stiffer with the early wickets of Chadwick Walton and Nicholas Kirton, reducing them to 13-2 i?n 4.1 overs.

New Zealand international Glenn Phillips (44) and Rovman Powell (26) resurrected JT’s innings with their entertaining partnership of 63 runs.

However, the quick departures of the two set batsmen turned the tide in favour of the Zouks. The match was poised brilliantly with brute hitter Andre Russell (16) at the crease, and 75 ne?eded off 55 deliv?eries.

After a brief partnership, Russell failed to fire his guns and was eventuall?y dismissed by Kesrick Williams.

It was Pakistan international A??sif Ali who shepherded the run chase for the Tallawahs and sco?red a brilliant knock of 47 off 27 deliveries.

In the end, it was a comfortable five-wicket victory for the Tallawahs, who won the match with seven deliveries to spare. Ali also walked away with the ‘Player of the Match’ title.

Paki??stan skipper Babar Azam could not control his emotions during the second T20I against Australia at Manuka Oval on Tuesday.

In the 12th over of the first innings, Azam hit the ball at long-on and was looking to pinch a second run, which was easily available. To his surprise, Asif Ali denied the second run and se?nt Azam back.

Off the very next ball, Ashton Agar pushed an armer, to which Ali went for a slog sweep. But the ball was not timed to perfection and the batsman was caught by P??at Cummins at the cow-corner region.

Ali’s dismissal did not go down well with the Pakistan captain who felt had the second run been taken off the previous ball, Ali would not have been on strike and the tourists would not have lost a wicket.

Ali scored ?just four runs off five balls and got-out at a crucial juncture as Pakistan was looking for a big total to put on the bo?ard.

Relive the moment here:

Later, Australia chased down a modest score of 151 quite easily to take 1-0 lead with a ?match to go in the series.

“Credit goes to Smith. He took the game away with magnificent innings. Very disappointed. We didn’t bat well in the powerplay. Iftikhar gets the credit for the knock he played. I love the wickets here as the wickets are pretty true. I enjoy batting here in Australia,” Azam said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Pakistan middle-order batsman Asif Ali was dealt a huge personal blow when his 2-year-old daughter died fighting against cancer on Sunday in a hospital in USA. T?he child, Noor Fatima, was battling a stage 4 cancer.

Asif has left his team’s ongoing tour of UK where he scored 22 runs in the fifth and final ODI against England at Headingley in Leeds. The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Pakistan lost that match by 54 runs to go down 4-0 in the five-match series, with the first game washed out due to rain at The Oval. Asif smashed two half-centuries on the tour, including his career-best of 52 in the third ODI at the Rose Bowl in Bristol.

He has thus far clubbed 342 runs in 16 ODIs at a normal average of 31.09. The 27-year-old wasn’t included in Pakistan’s preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup. But has carved out a place for himself in the final 15-man roster that was announced on Monday.

The World Cup squads could’ve been tweaked until May 23 as was allowed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Pakistan made agood use of it. But getting picked up for the quadrennial event the very first time, won’t have filled the despair that Asif must be suffering.

The Faisalabad born cricketer on Tuesday took to Twitter to express t??he grief regarding the same.

“My daughter my angle returned to Allah last night. May Allah grant her jannat.
Thanks everyone for you support, love, messages & prayers during this tough time,” he wrote in his social media post.

betvisa888 casinoAsif Ali – Cricket Times - betvisa casino //betvisa68.com/2019/05/icc-world-cup-2019-mohammad-amir-wahab-riaz-asif-ali-included-in-pakistans-final-15-man-squad/ Mon, 20 May 2019 11:08:12 +0000 //betvisa68.com/?p=29665

Pakistan Cricket Board? (PCB) on Monday announced their final 15-man squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, with the experienced pace duo of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz included in place of Junaid Khan and Faheem Ashraf, while batsman Asif?? Ali replaced Abid Ali, who was a part of the preliminary squad.

Amir and Wahab have been called up after Pakistan’s seam attack struggled against England during the recently concluded one day international series, conceding scores in excess of 340 on four occasions in a row.

Amir, wh??o has recently recovered from chickenpox, had been on sta?ndby after missing out on the initial 15-man party.

Riaz will join the squad on May 22, while Amir returned to gym work on Saturday, and ??will soon be ready to rejoin his teammates in full training after his illness.

Chairman of the Pakistan selection committee, Inzamam-ul-Haq, said: “Junaid and Faheem had been originally preferred over a few other bowlers based on their recent performances and the investment we had made on them since 2017.”

“They had the opportunity to cement their Word Cup spots, but they were well below-par in the series against England even though they were up against the difficult challenge of bowling on placid and batsmen-friendly wickets.”

“After it became obvious that the bat is likely to dominate the ball in the World Cup, we revisited our strategy and reverted to the pace of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz. Furthermore, Amir and Wahab give the fast bowling attack more experience to back and support the relatively inexperienced but immensely talent Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain,” he added.

Pakistan’s final 15-man squad:

Sarfraz Ahmed (c, wk), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Haris Soh?ail, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hasnain.
