New Zealand won a rain-affected first ODI against Bangladesh by 44 runs and will be looking to tie up thše series with a win in the second match on Wednesday.
The venue for the fixture is the little-known picturesque Saxton Oval in Nelson, last used in 2019. New Zealšand has won their last foš¦ur ODIs on this ground.
Predictions for the New Zealand vs Bangladesh match
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first in the opening match in Dunedin. The visitors had the better of the conditions, but couldnāt capitalise. A spirited fightback from the hosts, assisted by a crucial drop, saw themź¦« recover from 5/2 in the first over to go on and win the match.
This was Bangladeshās chance to get a foothold in the series, but they simply werenāt gšood enough. Sadly for the Tigers, that is the way we also expect the second match to go.

š New Zealand vs Bangladesh betting tips
The besš¹t cricket betting sites made the Black Caps 1.28 to win the opening fixture of the series. After a convincing victory, they are now just 1.20 to win the 2nd ODI, and 1.02 to win the series. Bangladesh are 4.80 to win the second match, and 15.00 tšo win both the remaining two matches and the series.
Again, with odds so short on a Kiwi win, the alternative markets look like the besź¦¬t place to go for better value cricket beštting tips.
1. New Zealand to score Most Sixes – 1.61 at Cricbaba
Most of the markets involving head-to-heads between New Zealand and Bangladesh have the Black Caps very short. For example, New Zealand is 1.47 to have the highest opening partnershišp, but if they bat first, that bet could be doomed in the first over.
One bet we’ve found that we like the look of is most sixes. This bet is based on the whole of the innings and therefore gives us better value. The hosts scored nine sixes in the opening match, the visitors scored just five.
2. Tom Latham to be top Run Scorer – 7.60 at Rajabets
Tom Latham is captaining the New Zealand side, and he is leading by example. In the opening match, he showed what good form he is in, scoring 92 off 77 balls in a 171-run parܫtnership with Will Young.
Coming in at No.4 protects Latham against the new ball (although it didn’t in Dunedin). If the openers can take the sting out of the new ball attack, it sets the skipper up perfectly to play the anchor role and if required, attack late on.
3. Adam Milne to get Over 1.5 Wickets – 2.4 at 1xBet
This bet came in on Shoriful Islam in the opening match, and we’re going for it again in the 2nd ODI – albeit, on a different bowler. If Bangladesh bats first, this is a great bet with the ball possibly swinging around. Milne is a good exponent of swing, and we would expect him to pick up at least one wicket early on.
If he doesn’t get the two wickets required in his opening spell, he always has another chance later on during the death overs. At that stage of the match, he may go for a few. But on the flip side, he can also pick up some very cheap wickets.
Milne took two wickets in the oš pening match so is in good nick.
