Jos Buttler once again proved why he is regarded as one of the most destructive T20 batters in the world, delivering a stunning performance during IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT). From the very first few deliveries he faced, Buttler looked in complete control, combining power, precision, and creativity to dominate the opposition bowlers.

Jos Buttler’s explosive assault in the powerplay

There was a certain ease to his batting – the kind that makes even the toughest shots look effortless. Whether it was finding gaps in the field or clearing the boundary with authority, Buttler seemed to have an answer for everything Delhi Capitals threw at him. His confidence was evident, and as his innings progressed, it became clear that the bowlers were struggling to find a way to contain him.

The highlight of his knock came in spectacular fashion – a massive 96-metre six that soared deep into the stands. It wasn’t just about distance; it was the clean timing and effortless swing that made the shot stand out. Earlier in the over, he hit his trademark ramp shot, executed with finesse and perfect control, leaving both fans and commentators in awe.

That single over not only disrupted DC’s bowling strategy but also handed complete control of the game to GT. From that point onward, the pressure firmly shifted onto the fielding side.

His partnership with Shubman Gill further strengthened GT’s innings. While Gill anchored the innings with composure, Buttler played the aggressor’s role, ensuring a steady flow of boundaries.

The contrasting styles of the two batters created a perfect balance, making it difficult for DC to find breakthroughs or control the scoring rate.

Needing just 12 runs to get there, Gill looked calm and composed as always. The moment finally arrived in the seventh over, when he drove a delivery from Axar Patel for a boundary, bringing up the milestone.

Gill played a composed yet impactful innings, guiding GT to a strong total of 210/4. The stylish opener scored 70 runs off 45 balls, blending control with aggression at just the right moments.
