Despite the positive start, the required rate continued to climb, and India’s bowlers held their nerve in the latter stages. Vaishnavi Sharma emerged as the standout with figures of 2 for 24, applying crucial brakes in the middle overs.

The defining moment arrived on the second ball of the 19th over when Arundhati Reddy tempted Kavisha Dilhari into a lofted shot towards long-on. What followed left the crowd gasping. Substitute fielder Kamalini initially misjudged the catch as the ball popped out of her hands. With remarkable composure, she stayed focused, juggled the ball three times, and finally clung on at the fourth attempt, even as Amanjot Kaur closed in nearby.
