The widely anticipated wedding between Indian cricket star and music composer has been put on hold, prompting a wave of speculation across social media. Both families have now again responded to the rumours, offering clarity on the circumstances while requesting privacy for the couple as they recover from recent emotional and medical setbacks.
Smriti Mandhana’s brother reacts on fixing any new wedding date
Notably, many unverified reports recently claimed that the families had mutually agreed upon a fresh wedding date on December 7 and this had generated considerable buzz. However, Mandhana’s brother, Shravan Mandhana, firmly refuted these claims, stating that no revised plan has been discussed so far. He expressed that while the families remain hopeful, the priority at this moment is ensuring the well-being of Smriti and Palaash after the recent health-related incidents.
“I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed,” Shravan said as quoted by HT, indicating that discussions surrounding a new timeline have not yet begun.

On the other side, Palaash’s family has adopted an optimistic outlook. His mother, Amita Muchhal, acknowledged the emotional distress the couple has endured but noted that both families remain united and supportive during this challenging phase. She described the sudden medical emergencies as deeply unsettling, affecting not just the couple but the entire household’s emotional environment. According to her, the delay stems purely from health concerns, and once the couple is fully stable, the celebrations will be revived with renewed energy.Amita shared that preparations were already underway and that the family had envisioned a heartfelt welcome for the bride.
“Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome. Everything will be fine; shaadi bohot jaldi hogi,” she said, conveying confidence that the wedding will proceed sooner rather than later.
While the two families differ slightly in their tone, both sides agree on the core issue: the couple’s health and emotional stability take precedence over all plans. For now, the wedding remains officially postponed, with no confirmed date from either family. What is certain, however, is the mutual determination to resume the festivities once both Smriti and Palaash regain full well-being.
