Just days ahead of the 4th Test, set to begin on July 23, Shardul took to social media to post a mirror selfie with his wife, capturing the pair in a loving embrace inside an elevator. The photo, shared in an Instagram story, quickly caught attention amongst cricket enthusiasts and fans of the couple. Smiling and relaxed, Thakur appeared to be relishing downtime with his partner, radiating happiness before the high-pressure contest.

The candid moment comes at a pivotal time for the Indian cricketer, offering the reminder that even those in the sporting spotlight cherish private moments of affection and togetherness.
An eventful series for Shardul Thakur
While the photo delighted his fans and followers, Thakur’s journey in the ongoing England-India Test series has been eventful. Having featured in the opening game at Headingley, the right-arm seamer faced a tough outing. With the ball, he struggled to make an impact, going wicketless in the first innings and proving costly in the second, despite taking two wickets at an expensive economy rate of 5.56. His form with the bat was also underwhelming, as he only managed scores of 1 and 4.
Due to this performance, Thakur was replaced in the second and third Tests by fellow all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who previously impressed with a century against Australia at the MCG last year. However, Reddy’s own time in the ongoing series has been cut short. The 22-year-old has sustained a significant injury in the third Test at Lord’s and has now been ruled out of the remaining series.
