Bollywood actors Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur brought a light-hearted vibe to Day 2 of the England vs India Test match at Edgbaston by joining the lunch-time segment of the Extra Innings show on Sony Network.
Sara Ali Khan’s cricket-and-movie quiz adds fun to Metro In Dino promotion on ENG vs IND Test Day 2
Their appearance was part of the promotional campaign for their upcoming film Metro… In Dino, which is set to release on Friday, June 4. Host Gaurav Kapur involved them in a quirky interactive segment that included a ‘Yes or No’ game, adding an entertaining mix of cricket trivia and Bollywood nostalgia. Gaurav jokingly cited a fictional rule that any live show in India must include a game segment to be officially recognized, setting the scene for the fun that followed.
With playful banter and spontaneous humor, both Sara and Aditya enthusiastically engaged in answering cricket-related questions. The segment created a delightful crossover between cinema and cricket, winning the audience’s smiles during the high-intensity Test. The fun began with Gaurav announcing that he had written the game rules himself, in pencil, so he had the authority to tweak them. He explained the fictional law that any live Indian broadcast must include a game, hence introducing the ‘Yes and No’ round.
Who debuted first between Rishabh Pant and Sara and India’s last series win in England?
The first question posed was historical: Who made their debut first, Sara or Rishabh Pant? Sara promptly responded that her film debut was in December 2018, sounding confident. Sara noted that the dates were very close. As it turns out, Pant had made his Test debut earlier, in August 2018, making her the winner in that comparison. Gaurav confirmed Sara’s debut was after Pant’s, and she sportingly accepted it.
The second question was a brilliant blend of cricket history and Bollywood timelines: Did India’s last Test series win in England happen before or after Aditya’s film debut? Aditya was sure that his movie debut occurred in 2009, even joking that maybe he shot the film in 2008 and it was released in 2009. Sara speculated the win happened before his debut, and she was absolutely right. India had won the Test series in England in 2007, making her answer correct again. Gaurav even asked for a close-up on Aditya’s confused face for comic effect. The mix of cricket timelines and film debuts made the questions surprisingly engaging, revealing fun overlaps between real-world events and personal milestones.

Virat Kohli vs Taylor Swift and the Lagaan vs Virender Sehwag showdown
The next segment featured another creatively designed question that again merged cricket with pop culture. Gaurav asked, “Who has more, Virat Kohli’s Test centuries or Taylor Swift’s albums?” Gaurav himself hilariously protested, wondering how Taylor Swift got added to the quiz syllabus and jokingly asked if Taylor had sung in their film. Aditya quipped that he himself had sung, to which Sara confirmed with a smile.
Eventually, they both concluded that Kohli had more. Gaurav confirmed this was correct, stating that Kohli has 30 Test centuries, whereas Swift has either 11 albums, or 15 if one includes the re-recorded Taylor’s Versions, but either way, Kohli wins.
Another brilliant cricket-and-cinema mashup followed: What was higher, Virender Sehwag’s highest Test score or the total runtime of the classic Bollywood film Lagaan? Aditya initially assumed Lagaan was longer, saying it felt like it was three hours or more. He compared it to a mini Test match itself. However, Gaurav shared that Lagaan runs for 224 minutes, while Sehwag had scored a whopping 319 in his highest Test knock, clearly higher. The playful tone continued, with the cast reminiscing about the old days and marveling at cricket records that could even surpass film durations. With their natural chemistry, the stars, along with Gaurav’s energetic hosting, turned this into one of the most enjoyable lunch segments in cricket broadcasting.
