Pakistan Champions have revealed their formidable squad for the second season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). Set to ignite the pitches of England from July 18 to August 2, 2025, the tournament sees the Pakistani contingent aiming to elevate their performance from their inaugural season’s runner-up finish. A significant development marks this season: the appointment of veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez as the new captain, signaling a fresh strategic direction for the team.

Md Hafeez, widely known as “The Professor” for his astute cricketing mind and tactical prowess, steps into the captaincy role, succeeding Younis Khan. Hafeez brings an impressive two decades of international cricket experience to the fore, coupled with a reputation for calm demeanour and sharp leadership. Having concluded his international career in early 2022, Hafeez stands as one of Pakistan’s most accomplished T20 players, having previously led the national side on numerous occasions. His dual threat as an all-rounder and his strategic acumen are anticipated to be crucial assets in guiding the team towards their maiden WCL title. His extensive experience in high-pressure situations and his ability to read the game are expected to provide the stability and direction needed for a championship push.

The Pakistan Champions’ squad for WCL Season 2 is a veritable who’s who of Pakistani cricketing legends, promising an exciting display of talent. Alongside the newly appointed captain Hafeez, the roster boasts an array of explosive all-rounders and dynamic batter, including the ever-reliable Shoaib Malik, the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy-winning captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, and power-hitters Shahid Afridi, Sharjeel Khan and Asif Ali.
