A viral footage purportedly showing India’s Test team captain Shubman Gill embracing Sara Tendulkar at the recent YouWeCan (YWC) Gala in London sparked a social media frenzy. Fans, already intrigued by their rumoured relationship, shared and speculated over the image, fueling fresh buzz around the duo. But what really happened at the event? Did the two share a warm hug, or is this another case of misidentification in the social media age?
Star-studded attendance at the YWC Gala
The recent YWC Gala, hosted by Yuvraj Singh, at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London, served as a fundraising event to benefit cancer patients. The prestigious occasion witnessed the presence of top Indian cricketers, including Gill, former stars like Sachin Tendulkar and Kevin Pietersen, and several celebrity guests from the film and music industries. Sara, daughter of Sachin Tendulkar, was also among the invitees and was seen at the event in a white dress, adding to the buzz surrounding her alleged connection with Gill.
Soon after the event, an image began circulating across X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and fan pages claiming to show Shubman Gill sharing a warm hug with Sara Tendulkar. The woman in the photograph is clad in a white outfit and the moment appears candid. Given the duo’s history of dating rumours, the post was swiftly interpreted as a “confirmation” by fans and gossip columns online.
Social media was quick to jump on the story, with comments and memes referencing their long-standing association and prior social media interactions. However, the origins and authenticity of the viral clip demanded a closer look.

Resolved! Mystery behind the woman in white dress
Despite the rampant speculation, a detailed examination of the viral clip and accounts from the event reveal significant discrepancies.
The woman hugging Gill in the viral photo was not Sara Tendulkar, but Hazel Keech, actress and the wife of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Hazel herself uploaded the image on her social media, which was then widely misattributed by users who believed the woman was Sara. Both Gill and Hazel were seen greeting each other warmly during the gala, as is customary at such formal gatherings.

Not Sara Tendulkar- it’s Hazel Keech, Yuvraj Singh’s wife..😅👇🏼— Irfan isak shaikh (@irfan_speak786)
Sara did attend the gala and appeared in multiple group images and clips with her father, but there was no reliable visual or credible media report confirming that she shared a warm hug with Shubman during the event.
