India Women produced a clinical performance in all departments to outclass Sri Lanka Women by 97 runs in the final of the Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation Series 2025, held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Khettarama. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India put on a batting masterclass before their bowlers choked the hosts in a one-sided contest to lift the trophy.
Smriti Mandhana’s masterclass sets up a mammoth total
India’s innings was anchored by an outstanding knock from , who once again rose to the occasion with a sublime 116 off 101 deliveries, decorated with 15 boundaries and two sixes. Her fluent strokeplay and timing lit up the Colombo crowd and laid the perfect foundation for a big total.
Supporting her at the top, Pratika Rawal contributed a steady 30 off 49 balls, while Harleen Deol played a handy knock of 47 off 56. The middle order kept the momentum alive with cameos from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (41 off 30) and Jemimah Rodrigues (44 off 29). Useful lower-order contributions from Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma further bolstered India’s total to a formidable 342/7 in 50 overs.
Despite picking up wickets at regular intervals, Sri Lanka’s bowlers were expensive throughout the innings. Malki Madara, Dewmi Vihanga, and Sugandika Kumari shared two wickets each, but none could stem the flow of runs.
