Mithila Vinod, a rising star in Indian women’s cricket and a member of the U19 World Cup-winning team, has revealed that Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has been her cricketing idol since childhood.
The 19-year-old from Karnataka also admires and sees�ꦿ� similarities in their playing styles.
Mithila was born on September 2, 2005. She is a right-handed batter and a ✨right-arm medium-fast bowler. Mithila has represented India B Women Under-19, India C Women Under-19 and Hubli Tigers Women.

During a recent interview with India Today, she spill beans on her cricketing journey after being overlooked for the 2023 Women’s U19 T20 World Cup. “From the moment I didn’t get picked then, it was a dream for me to picture myself here in this edition, lifting the trophy,” said Mithila.
When asked about the player she admires for power-hitting, the U19 World Cup-winning star named Hardik Pandya as her inspiration. “I find my playing style very similar to Hardik Pandya. If you see, he’s also a middle-order batter, a hard hitter of the ball with a high strike rate. I enjoy batting at that pace as well.”

When quizzed about her cricketing idol since childhood, Mithila said: “I have looked up a lot to Ellyse Perry since I started playing because she is someone you can rely on with both the ball and the bat. That’s the kind of player I want to be.”
Mithila hasn’t made her debut with the senior team yet and didn’t have a franchise to represent in the , but she loves RCB from the time she started watching franchise cricket.
“To be honest, playing for any WPL team would be great, but if I have to choose, I would love to play for RCB. I’ve always loved RCB from the time I started watching IPL itself, and I also attended the trials last year. I really like the players there, the staff, and the way they function. Playing for them would be great,” Mithila added further.
