Varma made his first domestic app🍌earance for Hyderabad during the 2018-19 match against Andhra Pradesh. He was only 16 years old at the time of his first-class debut.

After his first appearance for his domestic side, another positive development came in for the youngster next year in 2019 as he was selected in the Indian squad for the U-19 World Cup which reached the finals of the youth tournament only to get defeated by Bangladesh U-19 who were crowned winners that year.
