Jason Holder showcased his bowling prowess on Day 1 of the first Test match between South Africa and the West Indies, delivering a standout performance that saw him dismiss Aiden Markram with a remarkable ball. The match, played at Port of Spain’s Queen’s Park Oval, began with South Africa winning the toss and choosing to bat. Despite a solid start from the openers, Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales, it was Holder’s delivery in the 14th over that stole the show.

Holder delivered a good-length ball on his very first delivery of the over, coming over the wicket to Markram. The ball nipped back in sharply, targeting the off-stump. Markram, misjudging the line, attempted to defend but missed entirely. The ball pierced through the gap between bat and pad, smashing into the off-stump and sending Markram back to the pavilion for 9 runs off꧂ 34 balls. The West Indies players celebrated the crucial breakthrough with enthusiasm, marking a pivotal moment in the match.

South Africa’s challenging start against West Indies
