Bedingham attempted an old-school pull shot, lif🐽ting his front leg but failing to find the gap. Positioned at deep forward square leg, Carty was a few meters in from the boundary.
Reacting swiftly, he dove forward, cupping his wrists just above the grass, and managed to scoop the ball inches from the ground. Despite a third-umpire review due to a blurry zoomed image, Carty’s fingers were determined to be underneath the ball, securing the catch as he tumbled chest-first into the ground. The third umpire was satisfied, and Bedingham, already halfway back to the pavilion, was confirmed out, marking Seales’ first Test wicket at home.
