Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem registered his place in the Javelin Throw final of the Paris Olympic 2024 with an outstanding 86.59-meter throw on his first attempt during the qualifications on Tuꦑesday.

Arshad Nadeem’s impressive qualification for the Javelin Throw final

This remarkable performance not only secured his spot in the finals on Thursday but also raised the hopes of an entire nation. Nadeem is the first Pakistan to qualify for the final of any track and field event in Olympic history, highlighting the significance of his achievement. The men’s javelin throw final is scheduled for August 8 at Stade de France in Paris. Nadeem, who finished fifth in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with a throw of 84.62 meters, now aim to bring home Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in 32 years.

National support and high expectations for Arshad Nadeem

As the final approaches, the entire nation is rallying behind Nadeem, hoping he will bring home a medal. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) relea🌌sed a special video on social media platform X, featuring prominent cricketers wishing Arshad the best of🎉 luck.

Pakistan’s Test captain, Shan Masood, said, “Our best wishes and prayers are with you. We are eagerly waiting and hope that you will win a medal for Pakistan. Whatever you have done and achieved for Pakistan can’t be described in words. You are a role model and we hope that on August 8 you will be on the podium. All the best, brother.”

Babar Azam’s special message

Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, has also thrown his support behind javelin thrower Nadeem, who is set to compete in the final of the ongoing Paris Olympics on Thursday. In a heartfelt video message, Babar extended his best wishes to Arshad, expressing hope that he will end Pakistan’s long-standing medal drought at the Olympics. “I wish him good luck. I request everyone to support and pray he wins the final. Chak De Phatte Arshad Nadeem,” Babar said.

Nadeem is the last remaining Pakistan athlete in the Paris Games and the only one who has qualified for the finals, making this event even more significant for the nation. Other current and former players, including Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Umar Gul, also expressed their support and best wishes 🍌for Nadeem.
