During a recent Indian Premier League (IPL) meeting of the team owners with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a heated debate erupted between Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Ness Wadia and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner Shah Rukh Khan.
Divergent views during the IPL meeting
Several media reports suggested that while KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) preferred retaining 7-8 players, PBKS and other franchises advocated for minimal retention. This divergence led to an intense exchange between Wadia and SRK during the meeting with BCCI secretary Jay Shah. The crux of the debate li♛es in the differing strategies that franchises want to adopt for the auction, impacting team compositions and the overall dynamics of the league.
