In a significant move to enhance incentives and recognition for domestic cricketers, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the introduction of prize money for standout performers in junior and women’s cricket competitions. The new initiative, revealed on August 26 by the BCCI Secretary, will see financial rewards given to the best Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament across all domestic women’s and junior cricket events.

Prize money for domestic cricket performers  

In a post, Jay Shah said that Prize money will be introduced for the Playeꦇr of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all Women’s and Junior Cricket tournaments under the Domestic Cricket Programme.

We are introducing prize money for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all Women’s and Junior Cricket tournaments under our Domestic Cricket Programme,”  Shah wrote on his X account.

Payout for major tournaments 

He also added that the prize money will be awarded to the Player of the Match in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments for Senior Men. This initiative aims to rewar✃d outstanding domes🉐tic performances.
