However, in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024, India had eliminated Australia in the Super Eight stage and went on to win their second T20 World Cup. Historically, in the context of the BGT, India have not lost the trophy since 2016 that included two consecutive series win by defeating Austrꦰalia in their own backyard.

To enhance the viewing experience for Indian fans, Cricket Australia has also decided to introduced Indian Fan Zones for the first time in a Test series in Australia. Theღse specially designed zones aim to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for Indian supporters, f🍃ostering a sense of community and celebration among fans at all venues during the series.
Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series schedule
The new edition of BGT will commence on November 22 with the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The sec𓆏ond Test will be a day-night affair at the Adelaide Oval, beginning from December 6 to 10. The historic Gabba in Brisbane will host the third Test from December 14 to 18. The highly anticipated Boxing Day Test will begin on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and the series will conclude with the fifth Test at the Sydne꧋y Cricket Ground in Sydney from January 3 to 7.
