Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor is going all out to promote her upcoming film, “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.” She recently garnered attention by attending the Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, donning the Mahi jersey. Her forthcoming movie, which will co-star Rajkumar Rao, draws loose inspiration from renowned Indian cricketer MS Dhoni.
Janhvi Kapoor wants MS Dhoni to watch her film
Speaking to the media at her song launch event, Janhvi expressed her desire to screen her new movie for Dhoni and his wife, Sakshi Dhoni. However, she mentioned that Dhoni’s busy schedule makes it challenging to arrange. Subsequently, the actress appealed to the media to relay her message in hopes of grabbing the attention of the former Indian skipper.
“Of course we want to show this film to MS Dhoni and his wife, Sakshi Dhoni but he is very busy, I’m sure. You also please help,” Jahnvi told the media, as quoted by News 18.
Janhvi reveals the inspiration behind her film
Continuing her conversation with the reporters, Janhvi recalled an interview where the 42-year-old emphasized that the journey towards success holds more significance than the outcome itself. The Mumbai-born starlet disclosed that her film solely revolves around this notion, expressing her aspiration for the movie to pay tribute to Dhoni’s philosophy.
“Dhoni gave an interview where he said, ‘It’s not about the result but about the process. If you do your process with honesty and hard work, the result will be seen at the end and even if you fail, it doesn’t matter’. This film is made on that line by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I hope we honour his philosophy,” Jahnvi added.

Rajkumar Rao admires Dhoni for his sportsmanship
Rao acknowledged the Ranchi-born cricketer and said that the whole wꦰorld is a fan of Dhoni. He also emphasized the valuable lessons one can learn from MSD, depicting him as a true s🎃portsman renowned for his humility and down-to-earth personality.
“Hum kya, puri duniya unki bahut badi fan hai. Bahut zyada pasand hai hume Mahi sir, bahut pyaar karte hai unhe (not only us but the whole world is Dhoni’s fan; we all love him a lot). True sportsman spirit is visible in him a lot. He is humble and grounded and kindhearted. It shows in his aura. He is such a big legend, and the way he conducts himself, there is a lot to learn from him,” Rao stated.
