Rajasthan Royals (RR) are facing off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 65 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati on May 15. The🍌 Sa🏅nju Samson-led Royals have already secured a spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs, whereas PBKS have been eliminated. RR aims to win this match to maintain their second-place position, while PBKS will look to spoil their plans.
Jos Buttler and Kagiso Rabada miss out
Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bat first. They made one change to their playing XI, leaving out the experienced Jos Buttler. Similarly, Punjab did not include fast bowler Kagiso Rabada.
Reason behind the absence of star players
Notably, Buttler has returned to England for national duties ahead of the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. Tom Kohler-Cadmore replaced him in the Rajasthan lineup.
On the other hand, Rabada has gone back to South Africa for rehabilitation due to a lower limb soft tissue infection, as confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA). Nathan Ellis has taken his place in the PBKS squad.
