Nepal’s batting sensation Dipendra Singh Airee etched his name into cricket history books on Saturday, becoming only the third player to hit six sixes in a single over in a Men’s T20 International match.
Record-breaking feat against Qatar
Airee achieved this remarkable feat during the final over of Nepal’s innings against Qatar in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup match held in Al Amerat, Oman. Coming to the crease with Nepal at 174/7 in the 19th over, Airee turned the tide with his aggressive batting. Facing medium pacer Kamran Khan, he launched a six-hitting spree, clearing the boundary on each delivery to end the iওnnings on a high of 210/7.
Joining the legends
With this feat, Airee joined an exclusive club alongside cricketing legends Yuvraj Singh (India) and Kieron Pollard (West Indies) who have achieved the same feat in T20 Internationals. Notably, Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa) and Jaskaran Malhotra (USA) have also achieved this♕ feat, but in ODI cricket.
Here is how the over went:
- 19.1: Kamran to Airee – SIX runs – length ball smashed over deep midwicket.

Dominant performance earns Player of the Match award
The 24-year-old cricketer, playing his 60th T20I, is no stranger to such explosive displays. Interestingly, he had previously achieved the feat of hitting six consecutive sixes, although spread acros𒆙s two overs, during the 2023 Asian Games against Mongolia.
Meanwhile in the contest against Qatar, Airee’s contribution extended beyond batting. He also bagged two wickets while bowling, further solidifying his all-round performance. Qatar were restricted for 178/9, losing the match by 32 runs. Unsurprisin💦gly, he was deservedly awarded t෴he Player of the Match for his dominant display.
